05:24 pm - to Wit ... the twit.
the Wit
(52% dark, 34% spontaneous, 31% vulgar) |
your humor style: CLEAN | COMPLEX | DARK
You like things edgy, subtle, and smart. I guess that means you're probably an intellectual, but don't take that to mean pretentious. You realize 'dumb' can be witty--after all isn't that the Simpsons' philosophy?--but rudeness for its own sake, 'gross-out' humor and most other things found in a fraternity leave you totally flat.
I guess you just have a more cerebral approach than most. You have the perfect mindset for a joke writer or staff writer.
Your sense of humor takes the most thought to appreciate, but it's also the best, in my opinion.
You probably loved the Office. If you don't know what I'm talking about, check it out here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/theoffice/.

05:51 pm - Hotel Kerala-fornia Occasionally, some wag livens up the alumni mailing list:
Hotel Kerala-fornia (sung by a Malayalee)
On the road to Trivandrum Coconut oil in my hair Warm smell of avial Rising up through the air Up ahead in the distance I saw a bright pink tube-light My tummy rumbled, I felt weak and thin I had to stop for a bite There he stood in the doorway Flicked his mundu in style And I was thinking to myself I don't like the look of his sinister smile Then he lit up a petromax Muttering "No power today" More Mallus down the corridor I thought I heard them say
Welcome to the Hotel Kerala-fonia Such a lousy place, Such a lousy place (background) Such a sad disgrace, Plenty of bugs at the Hotel Kerala-fonia Any time of year Any time of year (background) It's infested here It's infested here
His finger's stuck up his nostril He's got a big, thick mustache He makes an ugly, ugly noise But that's just his laugh Buxom girls clad in pavada Eating banana chips Some roll their eyes, and Some roll their hips I said to the manager My room's full of mice
Save us from the Hotel Kerala-fonia Such a lousy place, Such a lousy place (background) Such a sad disgrace Trying to live at the Hotel Kerala-fonia It is no surprise It is no surprise (background) That it swarms with flies
The blind man was pouring Stale sambar on rice And he said We are all just actors here In Silk Smitha-disguise And in the dining chamber We gathered for the feast We stab it with our steely knives But we just can't cut that beef Last thing I remember I was writhing on the floor That cockroach in my appam-stew was the culprit, I am sure Relax, said the watchman This enema will make you well And his friends laughed as they held me down

01:48 pm - Last week In movies:
1. Stay 2. Junebug 3. A Love Song for Bobby Long
To strange things that find their way into my bed:

Here's to: Lyrics from The Proposition that keep running through my head.
When Said the moon to the stars in the sky Soon Said the wind that followed him home Who Said the cloud that started to cry Me Said the rider as dry as a bone How Said the sun melted the ground Why Said the river that refused to run Where Said the thunder without a sound Here Said the rider and took up his gun Adieu Said the bird in the branch of tree Fare well Said the snake to the dying light Adieu Said the fish in the river of sleep Goodbye Said the rider Goodbye and Goodnight No Said the stars to the moon in the sky No Said trees that started to moan No Said the dust blinded his eyes Yes Said the rider pointed his gun Yes Said the rider as white as a bone No Said the the moon rose from the sea... No Said criedly the dying sun No Said the planet started to weep Yes Said the rider laid down his gun
and to: Yet another pile of unfinished books.
Oh yes... Shillong's expecting a fresh supply of air on the 14th. If anyone's interested in coming here to swoon over a pair of over the hill rockers, you're welcome to camp out on the third floor of our unfinished hovel. From the front verandah, you can just about see the stage through a pair of high powered binoculars. Fair warning though, the plumbing hasn't been installed, yet. 09:24 am - Wise It was a pleasure to watch Rachel Weisz accept her Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, this morning. IMHO, she's a highly under-rated actor and hasn't had the chance to showoff her range. I eagerly anticipate the roles she lands in future.

05:16 pm - Stress fuelled dreams... Sometime between my 5:30am alarm and actually crawling out of bed at 6:30am, I dreamt simplylezz, Rave, a third person who might have been A and I were here in Shillong packing for a trip to the neighbouring state of Karnataka! simplylezz was quite upset, that we were hitching a trailer piled high with stuff (for a two day trip) to the back of his little Santro.
This month I'm job-hunting. I fancy my dreamtime will be very interesting.

08:05 pm - A scary day It's awfully windy up here in March. I was nearly blown into Whispering Pines on my morning ramble down to Pohkseh-Rynjah.
The morning paper reported two cases of decapitation caused by tin roofing sheets blown off by the high winds.
Tragic death of an elderly lady in city SHILLONG: In a tragic incident an elderly woman of Lawsohtun Block-4 died when a roofing sheet flew from a neighbouring house and hit her in her neck on Monday afternoon. The deceased Ms ... (54) was giving food to her dog when the incident took place. ... In a similar accident, the Headmaster of the Mawprem Modern High School was severely injured when a roofing sheet hit him in his neck on Monday afternoon.
I shall have to put on a chain-mail choker and line my pockets with Lead before I venture out tomorrow. Current Mood: uncomfortable
