I'm baaack. Hello? Hi out there! So life sucks and I have no idea what I'm gonna do with myself but I decided I wanted to start writing again and fuck everything else. I have this fic, probably half done at 23 pages. I'm looking for a beta to kick my ass into gear and fix the obvious fuck ups. : ) Here's the first chapter for a taste and to see if anyone wants to take on the beta job. It's an alt season six h/c fic. Let me know what you think and if you're interested in betaing. hello out there in LJ land Ame sent me a lj nudge so I figured I'd better stop neglecting my LJ and say Hi to all of you that I've been missing! Sorry, this isn't fic, just an update for anyone who may be wondering where I've been. ( For those who want to know... ) Anyway, the end of this very long rant is that life got the better of me and I let the things I enjoy fall by the wayside in favor of the things I had to do to get by. After tuesday (Grad school app. deadline) I'm planning on picking back up a fic that I've never posted and is at least 3/4ths of the way done, shoping for a beta and coming back to the wonderful world of slash, which I've missed very much. Thank you Ame for the nudge, and you'll be the first to see any new fic I manage to produce. : ) I hope to see more of you all soon. OT: Questions about Season 5 So, I'm attempting to work on my fic for Yin's ficathon, and I'm doing miserably so far. What on earth made me think I could do a whole season 5 re-write? But I have a couple of Season five questions if anyone wants to show off their geeky fangirl prowress. 1) the sphere thingy the monks used to ward off Glory, what was it called? 2) In which episode does Spike give his "it's always the blood, makes you warm...makes you other than dead" (I know I totally butchered that) speech and is it actually in season 5? Also, does anyone know where I can get the transcripts for that speech. I'd like to use it verbatim, if I can. [I'm never gonnna get this fic finished in time! Seth Green allert Is anyone else secretely a teenage boy and do you stay up late watching Adult Swim on the Cartoon Network? I luv me some cartoons. ::grin:: Anyway, Seth Green, who does several cartoon voices already, has created his own show on the Cartoon Network, called Robot Chicken It's on at Sunday at 11:30pm and it's really funny. It's all stop motion animation done with action figures and claymation stuff. In the first episode Voltron and a space alien have a dance off a la "You got Served". In the first episode Sarah Michelle Gellar does a guest voice, and in the second Abraham Benrubi (Olaf the Troll) does a guest voice, along with pretty much the entire cast of "That 70's Show". Honestly, the only reason I knew who Abraham Benrubi is, is because I just printed up the entire list of Season 5 Episodes, with descriptions, to help me with my Yin Ficathon fic. (I'm doing a rewrite of season 5, I may die) Anyway, just a note for the ubergeeks out there who pay attention to weird BtVS cast connections. : ) Have a great night. Looking for HP recs So I was poking around at Beyond Cannon, and found out that Jameschick has been writing Harry/Draco slash. I love her Spander stuff, so I checked out her H/D stuff and am now hopelessly hooked. I'm not sure how I feel about adding a second fandom, since I already spend what feels like hours keeping up with my yahoo lists and lj spander stuff. Oh well. What I'm wondering is if anyone has any good recs for H/D stuff. I would prefer finished stories, R or NC-17, and well written. (I know, I'm so picky) Anyway, if there are any H/D shippers on my list, I'd appreciate some recs. I don't want to necessarily get on more lists, just find a few good fics to read. Okay lj friends, hit me. : ) BTW, just started working on my CoSoRaOb ficathon fic (bad me). It's totally cutting it close but I feel good cuz I finally feel like I have a muse again (refer to my previous whiny log about RL stuff). Manga Rec Okay, my cousin (also a slash fan) just introduced me to the BEST Manga. It's not new, it's been around for a while, so I'm sure everyone else knows about it but me. Anyway, it's called FAKE and it's published in English by Tokyopop. It's the story of two NYC policemen named Ryo and Dee. They are partners and they are in luuuuuv! Very, very slashy! I've only read the first volume so far (there are 7 total) but already there are several yummy kiss scenes. Short Fic: Surprises (pre-S/X) So a couple of months ago I wrote basically what you'll see behind the cut. Then I left it for a while, envisioning it as a long piece but not willing to work anymore on it at that point. Last night at work I started thinking about it again, and invisioned it as a drabble. Well I opened the file up and read it, but couldn't see a way to pare it down to 100 words without losing a lot of what I liked about it. So I re-read it about ten times, edited it a bit and here it is. A short fic, just under 1,000 words: Spike ruminating on his life and the Scooby Gang. Surprises Spike’s point of view; pre-S/X; mention of X/Anya R General Spoilers for Season 5. Disclaimer: These characters are not mine and never have been, mores the pity. Completely random non-fic post So I just finished re-reading Quantum Xander 1 & 2 ( Cut for spoilers of 'Quantum Xander' and 'The Phantom of the Opera' movie. )Anyway, I finally figured out what I'm gonna do for the "Spike is sexy miniSlashficathon." It's gonna be Spander, which I actually feel kind of bad about. After the Xander minislashficathon last month, where almost 75% of the fics were Spander, I felt like I should try to do something different, but once I figured out what to do with my prompt, it turned out it had to be Spander. Since it is a Spike ficathon, I'll try to keep it solely Spike's pov though. You'll never guess what random prompt I got though: The Cheese Guy, from the post-Adam Dream episode! Really random, but I think I've got it figured out. Now if I can only write it. : ) Anyway, I should stop this really random post (there's that word again, it's the word of the day folks! Random!) and either work on my story or go to bed. BTW, if anyone is interested, I've got two more short stories half finished from the "Poet and Carpenter" verse, to be posted as soon as I actually finish them!
