Shylyyn's Holt

| Jul. 9th, 2008 09:18 am Monthly check in Well, more or less. I don't know why I didn't post that I had lost my job and the end of May. Though, I'm sure many of you know that from Kyn. Bogus claims for five months of work. "Too harsh with kids" Still make me mad, but goes to prove that they were hunting for a reason and just not ready for the quality care I want to bring. So, back on Gov. aid til Aug when I go back to the JC and sub. Hopefully I'll have my Teacher's permit by then. Well, more time to work on my writing, take care of my home and child, ohyeah and game ;) Blessed Be. 1 comment - Leave a comment | |

| Jun. 12th, 2008 09:08 am Beer v. Jesus Snagged from a friend:
Disclaimer: The following is from the Pagan Library--if you have any problem with the subject, do not read it--this is meant to be humorous Top 10 Reasons Why Beer is Better Than Jesus
* No one will kill you for not drinking Beer. * Beer doesn't tell you how to have sex. * Beer has never caused a major war. * They don't force Beer on minors who can't think for themselves. * When you have a Beer, you don't knock on people's doors trying to give it away. * Nobody's ever been burned at the stake, hanged, or tortured over his brand of Beer. * You don't have to wait 2000+ years for a second Beer. * There are laws saying Beer labels can't lie to you. * You can prove you have a Beer. * If you've devoted your life to Beer, there are groups to help you stop. 4 comments - Leave a comment | |

| Apr. 16th, 2008 02:13 pm Mythril is dead ...or at least the hard disk. For those that don't know Mythril was my laptop that I got for my birthday a few years back. However after having to reformat it once all ready the hard-disk finally gave up the gost and I have sold it for parts. Now, my list of "thing that cost too much" has grown to inculde: moving out to a new apt (3brm plz) a car that runs, a new laptop, and a trip to Disneyland. Sometimes I curse my desire to be an under payed teacher. Well, if I did get to check email and things before, due to baby, is even harder now..I have to borrow Kyn's while he's away. Real will be fast for a while...*cry* Blessed be. 3 comments - Leave a comment | |

| Feb. 20th, 2008 01:25 pm Huzzah! For those that may not know I have re-entered the working word. I work as the morning toddler Teacher in a brand new site. Its like a 15 min walk from my home. And I love it. My bosses are awesome and the kids are great. Plus I work early enough for Kyn to watch Bekah before he goes to school so this has been a real blessing for me. Happy Year of the Rat! Blessed Be. Current Mood: jubilant

Jan. 6th, 2008 08:08 am I'm a cheap date? The Five Love LanguagesMy primary love languages are probably Physical Touch and Quality Time.
Complete set of results| Physical Touch: | | 7 | | Quality Time: | | 7 | | Words of Affirmation: | | 7 | | Acts of Service: | | 6 | | Receiving Gifts: | | 3 |
Information Unhappiness in relationships, according to Dr. Gary Chapman, is often due to the fact that we speak different love languages. Sometimes we don't understand our partner's requirements, or even our own. We all have a "love tank" that needs to be filled in order for us to express love to others, but there are different means by which our tank can be filled, and there are different ways that we can express love to others.

| Dec. 23rd, 2007 11:33 am Holiday travel So today I leave with Bekah to go to SJ to be with my large family and won't be back till 26. Meanwhile Bret will be staying to go to his family dinner Christmas night. This should make for interesting stories. There are few Soap shows rival my family for drama. Blessed Be to all out there for a safe and manageable holiday. Current Mood: exhausted

| Dec. 21st, 2007 10:48 am D&D I Am A: Neutral Good Human Druid (3rd Level)
Ability Scores:
Strength-11
Dexterity-11
Constitution-12
Intelligence-11
Wisdom-14
Charisma-13
Alignment: Neutral Good A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them. Neutral good is the best alignment you can be because it means doing what is good without bias for or against order. However, neutral good can be a dangerous alignment because because it advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable.
Race: Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.
Class: Druids gain power not by ruling nature but by being at one with it. They hate the unnatural, including aberrations or undead, and destroy them where possible. Druids receive divine spells from nature, not the gods, and can gain an array of powers as they gain experience, including the ability to take the shapes of animals. The weapons and armor of a druid are restricted by their traditional oaths, not simply training. A druid's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that they can cast.

| Nov. 12th, 2007 08:09 am Sleep is something I dream about. I know HaHa. But really, I'm sure some of you are well aware of my distaste for pulling an-all-nighter. Not even for a good RPG. The first true all-nighter I pulled was the my labor. I think my biggest delusion of being a parent is being able to sleep ever again. God, my mom tells me that when I was a baby she used to vacuum while we napped. That is SO not possible with Bekah. She is so sensitive to light, sound, temp, lost pacifiers. And it seems nothing I do help her sleep. Last night, I gave her a good dinner of chicken, rice, and bananas. Then we took a nice bath and a four once bottle. I thought about giving her some Tylenol but her teeth didn't seem to be hurting her today. So at 8pm she was asleep. I took a shower and watched a finale that I had been waiting for. Then, I tired to put myself to bed at 10 last night. I wasn't tired but I was not going to hold my breath on Bekah sleeping through the night. Sure enough she woke at 11:30. I helped her back to bed, seeing how her crib is in my room. I had yet to even fall asleep once when she woke again at 1am. I tired to get her back down but she wouldn't have it. Bret came in and had to take Bekah while I cried from having no sleep. I took her back because she won't sleep for Bret. I gave her something to calm her tummy which seemed to be the problem. I was finally able to put her down at 3am. After my husband, and my roommate, both big night owls had gone to bed. It frustrates me greatly when my body still wakes me at 7:30am with only a nap (anything less than 5 hours is a nap to me.) to run my day on. She still sleeping and I sneak out to eat and check email...I know that there are those who say she should just cry it out...but I can't. It seems so wrong to me. It makes it harder that she shares our room, but I can't move out. I look forward to when Bekah is older, she has her own room and sleeps through the night, every night. Gods I am so tired. How am I supposed to go back to work like this?
PS Bekah is walking now and it's really cute. Current Mood: depressed
