[ mood | calm ]

OK!!! I promise only a couple more of this shoot!!

The clouds are intense today. I wish I could I be outside taking advantage of this glorious weather but instead, I'll just admire the view from my desk. :-(

I wish it would stay like this all the time.

Sweetly as he encompasses me now
Among the autumns brown tints of gold
while his smile all that memories allow.

The road that will lead us to our unknown
Will we walk the same path?
Or separate and meet up again someday

What lies ahead for you?
What is in store for me?

Only walking this rocky road will tell
of our future
and how bright it can be

are you ready?

My little one and I found these HUGE leaves while walking around the park the other day and they still had some dew drops on them...so of course I took a picture. I like this the most because fallen leaves with water drops, cliche as it is, are so elegant to me...so here is a picture :-)

What a mess! [07 Oct 2005|07:48am]
[ mood | amused ]

I don't understand what is happening here...it seems I am falling apart and it's all crashing at once

this is how my day is going and it's only 7:49am

  • when putting on my clothes this morning I noticed in one of my favorite pair of jeans that I had a hole in crotch

  • the bra I was planning on wearing also had a huge hole around the nipple part...a very suspicious jezebel might be the cause for this

  • I changed my pants and then managed to spill coffee on said new jeans, now I have a nice stain on the knee

  • favorite brown sweater has a nice hole in the arm pit, not sure why or how it got there

  • noticed the button to the pocket on the back side of pants that I changed into is falling off and now a little hole is forming there

I'm not sure what's going on here..my clothes are not THAT old, except for maybe the first pair of jeans I put on this morning. I'm such a mess LOL

Happy Friday to you all, what is going on for the weekend?

OH and did my last picture show up at all? I didn't upload it onto my web server so I used photobucket...first time using it :-)

Update [03 Oct 2005|06:41am]
[ mood | *shrugs* ]

The time has sure flown since I last updated. I am still with out internet service at my new place so that is the reason for the lack of posts. I hope everyone can forgive me :-( I do have new work that I was trying to show you but I can not access my web server from work. It tells me I am unable to do that, so I'll have to figure out another way.

Things have been very busy recently. Due to a short semester for photography we are cramming everything into every week and assignments are due much sooner than they normally would be. I have been working hard to make sure I do not fall behind but it seems I still wait to the last minute on things. Tonight is developing and hopefully printing for Wednesdays assignment, then come next week I will 2 more assignments due and it keeps going on and on. I'll spare everyone the boring details.

How is everyone doing?

Yosemite, heavens align for encore

Officials expect a crowd to relive the scene captured by Ansel Adams in 1948.

The Associated Press

YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK – Astronomers have pinned down the exact time and date that renowned photographer Ansel Adams snapped his ethereal picture, "Autumn Moon," and have determined that the sun, moon and mountains will align in the same positions on Thursday.

The Texas State University astronomers, who have earned a reputation for nailing down historical dates and events, reached their conclusions after poring through celestial history, plotting lunar phases, building a special computer program and calculating shadow angles.

They concluded that Adams snapped the shutter at 7:03 p.m. on Sept. 15, 1948 - not in 1944 as was long believed.

Yosemite officials expect a crowd of photographers, astronomers and Adams aficionados will gather atop Glacier Point to relive the scene that Adams captured. The scene repeats every 19 years.

"It's interesting that astronomy can do this," said Matthew Adams, the photographer's grandson and president of the Ansel Adams Gallery in Yosemite. "And it's great that there's this ongoing interest in Ansel. We're planning to go out and see it for curiosity's sake."

"Autumn Moon: the High Sierra From Glacier Point" depicts a gauzy moon hanging in the darkening sky above the jagged peaks of the Clark Range.

In 1994, the "forensic astronomers" led by astrophysicist Donald Olson pinpointed the moment Adams shot his famous photograph of the moon rising over Half Dome in Yosemite Valley.

They also have nailed down where Vincent van Gogh set up his easel to paint some of his famous celestial portraits, and determined that a Marine Corps landing craft became beached in the South Pacific during World War II because a rare lunar cycle caused an extremely low tide.

Adams died in 1984.

Decisions [13 Sep 2005|07:17am]
[ mood | curious ]

In my new apartment, that I will show pictures of, I have a service porch that is suppose to be used as laundry room BUT I am thinking of setting it up as a darkroom.

It has running water
A shelf for an enlarger and space for trays
good ventilation
but it is a service porch and I would have build walls in order to keep any type of light out.

What do you guys think?
Has anyone built a darkroom before that could give me some tips.

Granted, this is just a thought. I'm trying to research all possibilities.
