½ 24 Amerikan Idyll photos - 2005

I have not been a good or frequent poster, (have you seen [info]ossie's journal entry about posting?) but to make up for it here are my favorite pictures for 2005, about half of which could have been posted on lj. I find that photos which I think of posting on lj go instead to my web-site. Or reality is that the photos sit in carefully defined archives on my computer disks.

The index of the pictures is at http://www.hoodes.com/Photos/2005_Favorites/. At that page, you can click on a picture for a larger view with comments or go directly to a single page by going to: http://hoodes.com/Photos/2005_Favorites/n.html where "n" is a number between 1 and 12.

The '11th' picture is possibly not appropriate for viewing at work.

½ Cup Soup, ½ Spinach Salad, Wine Vinegarette

One of my favorite places to eat in Seattle is the Essential Baking Company(website) which is a bakery/cafe/bar
with it's pastry chef being a chocolatier. This picture is the meal I eat most of the time that I go there (either lunch or dinner). It includes spinach salad with red wine vinegarette dressing, olive-oil soaked Pizza Bianca bread and soup. There is a daily menu and sandwiches are also available. The location of the bakery is in Fremont about two miles from Seattle Downtown.

Here me am [Feb. 26th, 2005|05:23 pm]

<td>These pictures are part of a "Me" series taken in 2004 and 2005 by myself ... I'm the best always available model for my pictures <grin>. The shots are facilitated by my "Antique2000" Nikon 990 which has a swivel base and is my bicycle (shopper-commuter or road-touring) traveling camera. The close-up on the left is taken with a Nikon D70, the other three are taken with a Nikon 990 on a bicycle shopping trip to the top of Queen Anne Hill in Seattle. The house on the right is one of my most favorite houses in Seattle. I will one day get a picture of it that I really like. My best picture of the house is here. Click on any of the above pictures for a bigger (1024x768) view. </td>

My First Post (avoiding silence) - A View East [Feb. 13th, 2005|11:08 am]

This is a view outside my kitchen window looking East from Queen Anne hill in Seattle, WA. The furthest horizon is the Cascade Mountains and a little closer in is Highway I-5. You can't see either of those in this picture. It's a sunrise in late January 2005.
