question about the London poster [03 Jul 2008|05:51pm]

lupinskitten
I was thinking about PotO this afternoon for several reasons, and then remembered a London poster I had seen that created some controversy because it was rather suggestive in tone. It was of Christine sitting in front of the mirror, with Erik looking through at her. I scoured the internet for a poster of it, just to see if my memory served me well, but found not a trace.

Does anyone have the image that they could share with me? I've looked for it everywhere! =P

Hello there! I was wondering about all the POTO sequels out there. I've started reading Susan Kay's Phantom, but I wondered if there were any others that readers could suggest?

Thanks in advance!

Hello, this is my first post to this community. I am wondering if anyone has any pictures of Robert Gualliaume as the Phantom. A friend and myself were chatting about the make-up used on Phantom and were intrigued as to how Robert's Phantom was made-up, seeing as he was the first Afro-American Phantom.  Lots of image searches have proved unsuccessful, the only images I have come across is a pose from Music of the Night. Anyway that's enough rampling.

My IM is; phantom24601@hotmail.co.uk
It's always nice to chat to fellow Phans.

Hi guys!!! I finally got the new Masquerade Monkey Music Box in the mail, the 12-inch one... and it is AMAZING. First off, I love the fact that it's bigger, and I love the crank... and i LOVE the music! Thankfully, it doesn't play the tune as fast as the other one. It's not as slow as the Broadway production monkey, BUT it is pretty close. <33

Phantom in London and Paris help! [18 May 2008|11:20pm]

eriklefantome
[ mood | thankful ]

As a six-year phan, I finally get to go to London to see Phatom and go to Opera Garnier in Paris!  I'm super excited, however, I need help.

it's going to be my first time traveling to Europe.

So I have a lot of questions and hope loyal phans like you can help me.

1. How do I purchase a student rush Phantom ticket in London?  What kind of seat do you usually get?
2. Where is the stage door to the theatre?
3. Where is the best seat in the theatre?  Is it the front orchestra (I think the section is called something else..)

As for Paris, I want to know if it's possible to get a tour to the cellars and take a look at the underground lake underneath the Opera house?  I really want to do that ...

How do you get to Box Five? Where is it?  Can you go inside?

Any advice is helpful !  Thanks a lot.

Vicky

Question... [15 May 2008|09:05pm]

I noticed that, on the San Fransisco Music Box Site, they have a newer version of the Masquerade Monkey Music Box... this one is a bit bigger and has a crank. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone knew if the crank on this new version allows the tune to be slowed down? Because I noticed that, with the previous one, it played the tune 'Masquerade' much too fast.

Thanks :)

Check out Antonio Banderas as the Phantom with Sarah Brightman.

He actually has an amazing tenor voice.

The man himself! [13 Apr 2008|10:31am]

No, not Andrew Lloyd Webber. Or even Michael Crawford. Sorry to disappoint! However, I had the pleasure of hearing Hal Prince speak at this year's Spring Convocation for Honors at Elon University. Quite a treat! And since the school did Phantom in the winter, we had the unparalleled priviledge of performing "Masquerade" for the directing/producing mastermind himself. Brilliance!

A few snapshots behind the cut )

And SQUEE! Elon is doing "Sweeney Todd" next year! *swoon*

It seems to me that Phantom is like this big beautiful tree and every dog in Hollywood feels the need to piss on it.  I mean seriously... is ONE faithful film so hard to ask?  I mean, it seems to me (and I know I'm not alone here) that they haven't been remotely close since 1925.

srsly.  W.T.Fuck?

Has anyone heard of or read the book Journey of the Mask by Nancy Pettengill?

I just heard about it, and I'm wondering if it would be a good read, or worth buying.

[ music | Point Of No Return - Phantom of the Opera Soundtrack ]

Greetings fellow Phantom fans,
I am new here to the community, but I share with you all a grand interest in the Phantom of the Opera. I love the movie as well as the story. And I am so very grateful that one of my favourite actors, Gerard Butler, was the Phantom in the wonderful passionate 2004 film. He did an amazing job. One of my many hobbies is making videos. I've been making videos of a tv show for a while, but now I finally directed myself to the Phantom of the Opera. Hence, I would like to share with you all, my video that I made which is under the LJ cut. I hope you all enjoy it and I look forward to reading your thoughts on it.
Later,
France

[ music | The Music of the Night - Anthony Warlow ]

Hello, Phantom fans!

If any of you lovely theatre-goers are willing to lend a helping hand, please take the time to sign the petition for a Phantom of the Opera Australian Cast Recording, starring Anthony Warlow in the title role. For the many who cannot experience Anthony's Erik, this is the next best thing. The rest of us are just obsessive.

So far we have just over 600 signatures, including those of Ana Marina (Christine), John Bowles (Raoul), Nadia Komazec (Meg) and Simon Pryce (Phantom understudy). Anthony supports us but was unable to sign for fear it would put him at odds with Really Useful Group and jeopardise his position in the current tour. We've got roughly two years to get it up to scratch, so please blackmail your friends and family spread the word. Even if you're only sort of interested, even if you're just kind enough to indulge your fellow Phans, every signature counts, so please click the pretty banner and add your support! If you're not interested in joining the forum, alternatively you can post your name here and I'll add it on your behalf. ^.^

A very Phantom birthday... [17 Feb 2008|08:15pm]

sunni_sideup
So... I just wanted to spaz a bit. Today was my birthday, and my parents got me a collectible Phantom of the Opera music box that is absolutely to die for!

Ooooh, so pretteh!

And they also said they would order me the illustrated Phantom of the Opera by Greg Hildebrandt. (This is a big deal, because my parents are freaks about identity theft.) I've seen the pictures, and I ADORE THEM. I swear, they are absolutely gorgeous, and I can't wait to get it!

*spaz* Now if only I could see the show!
