[29 Apr 2005|08:52am] [ mood | busy ] [ music | 19465. thrice - [if we could only see us now #01] - eclipse ] my new case came yesterday, and a half gig stick of RAM. the rest of my goodies show up today so i should be able to build the new system and have it up and ready in time for the blockade on spring tomorrow. getting a new sound card, three more fans (2 80mm fans for the front, 1 120mm for the back, matching LEDs to go with the fans/LEDs that came with the case), using my current p4 2.52GHz processor, possibly overclocked to 3.0GHz, need to see how hot it runs without overclocking first. also getting a new 80gb serial ATA hard drive, and the mother of all heat sinks. wee! p.s. ignore my shoe. 2 comments|post comment

AIM seriously needs to stop suspending my account just because i don't use AIM or trillian. see.. i use miranda, it's open source software like trillian and it's free so i can connect to everything.. anyway. they've suspended my account about 12 times all told, usually i can go to their site and get my password from them (they change it to a random string of numbers and letters when they suspend me, like 9df34l4n3), and they'll e-mail the password so i can get back on. well yesterday after i got suspended yet again i went to their site, filled out the form, and didn't get an e-mail.. so i tried again and the site said i had requested it too many times and can't get it for 24 hours. so it's 24 hours later, i just filled out the form again, and didn't get the e-mail yet again. 6 comments|post comment

omg. [16 Mar 2005|08:52pm] [ mood | giddy ] [ music | 13210. red hot chili peppers - [californication #03] - scar tissue ] so believe it or not, yesterday actually got worse. after wrestling with the stray dog for an hour or so, and smelling like a big wet nasty dog, i decided to go take a shower. after my shower jeff tells me that the dog's been barking for near 40 minutes in the backyard. so i got dressed and went out there to see what he was barking at, and of all things, it was a fucking opossum that he scared into a tree. having never seen one before i came in here and asked jeff for advice on what to do, he told me to go get the trash can from the garage and try to knock the opossum into it, then let him out in the alley behind the house.. so.. i got a broom, it wasn't long enough, so i broke a stick off a tree and started poking it, and nothing happened. i tried shaking the branch, swatting at the opossum, poking it, jabbing it, stabbing it, and it didn't even move. finally i got so pissed off that i was being beaten by an opossum that i found some nice big rocks in my yard and started throwing them at it. i hit the thing square in the face and it DID NOT MOVE. finally i got so frustrated i started seriously stabbing it with the stick, and it finally moved.. guess where? higher up on the next fricking tree over. so i get one of the leashes for our dogs and i leash the stray, and bring him onto the porch with me, and i call rick9109. while i'm on the phone with him this dog is using me as a jungle gym, climbing on me, chewing on the leash, trying to run around, practically yanking my arm off. i had enough. i came inside and told jeff he needs to come do something because i can't feel my hand and the opossum is still out there. so he comes out, notices how high up the little frigger is, and we finally decide to put the dog in the garage and see if the opossum will go away. about an hour later it finally came down from the tree but was still in the yard, so we left the dog in the garage all night. after all of this, you'd think my day can't get any worse, right? wrong. i came in here only to find that CT's host was hacked, and the entire site was obliterated. everything on the server was gone. we lost our website, forums, elysian fields lost their website and forums, our host lost his website, and any other sites he was hosting. all of our index pages said "Server go bye bye." what the hell did we do to deserve this? meh. - the dog's owner came by today and picked him up, and gave us beer as a reward for keeping his dog safe all night. and some good news about the site came in the form of mars, who got a mysql dump that makes it so that when we get new hosting, we can restore our forums to the point they were at right before they went down. i'm so glad that after all the.. crap.. that happened yesterday, i get a little "yay" in there somewhere. 1 comment|post comment

[27 Jan 2005|03:01pm] [ mood | busy ] [ music | 8733. eminem - [encore #18] - one shot 2 shot (feat. d-12) ] so i've made 120,000poe running goods thus far today, randomly got PVP'd by solonor's arrow on a fruit run (they in a sloop, we in a merchant brig).. won some rum and shot. confusing how they own a shop on our island (yea, wtf, don't ask.. cause i don't know) yet they attack us at sea? i'm thinking 100% taxes. gladiators are go, i believe we're bigger than the flag crew in fandango now, flag tracker hasn't updated for a couple days so we shall see. got some fantastic drivers lined up, we're all ready to move the fleet, meeting tomorrow to decide who is doing what, then saturday it's time for the big show. i sent cleaver an e-mail about how i perceive this whole thing, he responded, and i've been sitting here since i got it trying to figure out what i'm going to say to him. he doesn't see fandango as being harmful, or hurting people, and it angers me that he'd rather i explain it, than look for it himself. =/ oh well. i've got about 100k left in fruit to move, actually probably more like 30k, since i already ran the rambutan. time to get off my butt and do that, gotta remember to empty out the palace before i go to sleep, too. post comment
