I was execting a bit more from this book,
due to all the enthusiastic reactions of my friends, but it was a very
fun read nonetheless.

And I must re-read Jane Eyre, I read it in my student years so I
don't remember the details.

And Martin Chuzzlewitt.

I did love the idea of the bookworms and Jane's abduction and
retrieval is hillarious.

Feeling a bit lonely lately, after being surrounded by people for a
week, then the pantomime workshop last week.
And now, all of the sudden, there is this big void. Even if I enjoy
not runniong around all the time. And being able to have dinner at
home. I even managed to summon up the energy to do some cooking this
weekend.
Now would be a good time to start working on that article about my
drama school D. keeps asking me.
Can't wait till september...

It's weird not to have music all around me now.  But it does feel good to sleep in a fluffy bed and have a hot shower everyday.
Andanças is always great, even if it is getting too crowded for my taste. I really enjoyed playing the daf in the belly dance classes, because I was working with pro musicians and it taught me a lot about listening to each other. Hitting a drum is quite exhausting, though, if you have to do it for 50 min in a row.
Anyway, now I feel kind of lonely and I end up finding excuses not to come home early, so i registered for a neutral mask and pantomime workshop. I'm loving it so far. I was planning on taking this course this year but the classes are twice a week until eleven and I don't want to make the same mistake as this year, I need some time for myself.

School year is over.
We finally presented the play we had been work on since april. We were supposed to give 2 performances and ended up doing 3 because a lot of our friends were not able to get in. It went really well, on saturday we even got a standing ovation ( I almost cried when I saw people getting up to applaude).  I later found out that night that actress Adelaide João was in the audience. Good thing I was performing without glasses, I would have felt really awkward.
As had never had the experience of doing several performances of the same play, it was very interesting to see how different the public was each day, they never laughed at the same places, for instance. And so was our energy.
Ther's a photo of the team, standing in front of our costumes. We sweated so much every night we had to put our wardrobe to dry in the sun before the last performance yesterday. I even felt unconfortable hugging my friends because I thought the smell must have been intolerable.
And now there's this void, even if I'm really glad I can go home earlier in the evening.

It's been like woring jobs lately, with all these rehearsals. We're
having lights rehearsals and hopefully do the hole play twice ( wich
we haven't amanged to do yet because there are always all these
details to fix).
Anyway I had an evaluation meeting with the leader of the interactive
theatre group and it was quite positive, I just worry that I am never
chosen to play the main part in the long form ( the story teller picks
the actors he wants to play himself and other main characters.) So I
wonder if I'm hiding myself, or if what I'm doing in the short forms
is not strong enough.
Then again it might just be my rejection trauma speaking, and that it
just happens, not necessarely for a reason.
But I'm seriously thinking of going to the playback core training in
september in england, maybe that will shed some light.

Went to see Cabo Verde- Contos em Viagem friday evening.
One of the best shows I've seen this year.
It's on until the 3rd of August,, try not to miss it.
In fact, I might go there again if I find the time.
That's how good it is.

Having our last interactive theatre performance tomorrow before the
hollidays. I'm feeling quite proud because I was the one who made the
contact. We're performing at this association that helps imigrants who
want to legalize their situation. They loved the idea.
Let's hope it goes well. Anyway I'm so exhausted with the rehearsals i
our drama school that I don't even have the energy to feel nervous
about it.

Next week is going to be rough. The play is on the 25th and 26th so
we'll have rehearsals every evening until 23h30, maybe even later. I'm
already trying not to burst out in tears during the day. At least the
anguish seems to have helped me with my scenes yesterday.
One of my friends wanted me to try a slasa class this evening but I
don't think I can make it. Just want to go home and log in to SL.
Haven't been there in ages.
Plus I have tsurus to make.

Not too sure about this one. Even if once I
started I couldn't put it down. Had trouble with the last 50 pgs. That
ending is maybe a bit too weird.

Nevertheless, I think I agree with bnoir: it's an author I always
like, even if I liked this book less than his other books.

Went to see Opera
Extravagante
last night in Belem.
Loved it!
From time to time seagulls would fly over our heads and would get lit
by the show lighting and added to the magic. And the shadows
projecting on the walls of the monastery.
And the scarf I bought for extra protection from the cold will really
come in handy for tonight, for the <a href="http://www.movimentoacordalisboa.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=383&Itemid=65>open air movie session</a>

almost done with this book, but boy is it
being hard to finish!

I don't I will be able to hear the word spanking for a while
without a cringe.

my friends were right, you think it cannot possibly get worse but
it does, everytime.

I'm not into S and M, Exit to Eden worked for me, because it was
more about the game, the roleplay, I could understand that. But here
it's sheer humiliation and pain. It's hard for me to find it the
slightest bit erotic. In fact there passages that made me contort in
horror.

And it's not even that well written.

- The kids must have found me ugly, they didn't ask me for an
autograph after the show but they were going around the others saying:
pretty girl, give me an autograph!
- but you do have a pretty face. Different... But pretty...

Performed saturday in Alcacer do Sal with the Oriental Dance class (
aka Belly dance, but it's so incorrect). We were supposed to star at 9
pm and the bus picked us up at 3 pm, but then we learned we were only
going to perform at 11.
The good thing was that for once we weren't at the theatre, the show
was at the entrance of the bridge, close to city hall, so we actually
managed to see a bit of the town and it's chinese shops. Everything
was decorated because of the "Santos Populares", there were poems on
every wall and the streets were covered in garlands.
But since our "dreesing room" ( a small roofless tent) was very close
to the river, we were devoured by the mosquitoes. Even with insect
repellant. They would just find a bit of skin with no repellant.
The public wasn't very demonstrative. But there were some kids ( who
must have been around nine or ten years old) who got completeley crazy
when we walked in. "You're hot!" " I want that really hot one in the
front" etc, etc... I had hard time keeping myself from laughing.

My first playback performance

Our performance went really well yesterday.
The kids loved it.
Plus I'm normally in the background but this time I often took the
lead during the short form.
The theme was cut down to stories of courage, but they mostly told
experiences they thought were funny. In the beginning of the show
each of us was attributed a member of the audience and we shared
stories of courage with them. I got much stronger stories then, since
those kids come from complicated backgrounds, but then is was probably
too much exposure for them to tell those stories to the rest of the
group.
Anyway, they were having a lot of fun.
