Hey Y'all
I'm all along and I miss everybody....

Krisite and Liam left last Thursday to attend her grandfather's funeral service. He died at 98 years old. I should be so lucky to live that long.

I'm still here in cold polluted Salt Lake City because I have to give a presentation to a client of mine on Thursday. Too bad. At least I have my dogs. The presentation should be fun. I enjoy talking about my work to my clients.

Saturday I am packing the dogs into the car and driving to New Mexico to get out of the cold. It had better be warmer than 35 degrees since that is what I'm used to. I'm taking three days off work and am going to enjoy hanging out with family and sunny unpolluted air. Then my family and I drive home.

Sorry it's been so long everyone. I am a very busy man with a 1 year old son.

Time is family...not money.

Time passes too fast
Wow, has it seriously been May since I posted. Sorry friends. The balance between raising my son and working really hard pretty much means that my computer time is at a minimum. Those few moments when Liam is sleeping and I am not too exhausted...I can actually sit and peruse the blogosphere.

Hmm. Let's see. Work is going rather well. They handed me a nice raise two weeks ago so I think that what I do is really appreciated. Today I made an important presentation on the geology of two oil and gas wells in central Texas to a large client of ours. I really quite enjoy talking to clients. It's where I feel in my element. I really learn so much about my industry by speaking to the geologists of all these other companies.

One nice thing I am so thankful for is that I can be so productive in a 40 hour work week that I don't need to put in any overtime. I can come home to HotWife and Liam and actually balance the importance of family with a career. I even come home for lunch every day since we live 5 miles from where I work. I feel quite blessed.

I hope that everyone is having a great holiday season. This year is flying by too fast. I can't believe that Liam will be turning 1 in January. Amazing.

IKEA Madness!
Wow, the new IKEA store is a gift from God. I just blew like a grand and practically refurnished my bedroom and kitchen. Now we just await the delivery of the select comfort king size bed, since our full size bed is getting way too small. Our thinking is that with kids, the bigger the bed the better. ;)

finally...
Hey everybody,

Sorry, it's been so long. I have been an LJ hermit lately since my life was consumed with thesis. The wait is finally over. I will be graduating with my Masters in Geology this May 12th at New Mexico Tech. It took me 5 years but I finished out and now I can move one with my life. I am so relieved. Needless to say I slept pretty good last night.

We Did It!
I am formally anouncing the birth of my son, Liam Hunter McLin.

Liam was born at 2:57 AM Jamuary 16th, 2007. He is 5 pounds, 4 ounces and is 19 inches long.

My boy is doing great and mom is doing as well as can be. We had some scarry times so the little guy had to come early. Krisite had signs of toxemia or preeclamsia and we tried a natural birth by induction. After 10 and half hours of labor he just wouldn't come so we had a Cesarian section. I was with Kristie the whole time and I even got to mut little Liam's umbilical cord. It was such a happy moment. He cried and turned pink right away. Just a little while ago the nurse took Kristie in a wheel chair over to infant ICU and she got to hold him for the first time. Liam is doing great and we are extepcting him to be with mom full time by tomorrow morning.

Thanks for all of your well wishes and prayers. It sure helped!!!

scarry times
Hey guys,

Kristie and I almost.....had a baby today. Exactly 1 month early. Yeah...We were pretty scared.

Kristie and I were on our usual greyhound walk when she felt a gush...like her water had broken. We rushed home and called the labor and delivery line and they said to come in so we packed the dogs up and had them boarded and then showed up. They hooked up the fetal monitors and I could watch Kristie have some contractions even. Fun times.

The good news is that her cervix is still closed and the ultrasound found plenty of amniotic fluid around the baby. The bad news is that her blood pressure is way too high so they are keeping her overnight to test for symptoms of preeclampsia. So far, none yet after testing her blood and urine. No protein which is a good sign. So it looks like she will call me in the morning and tell me the story. Then I can go pick her up I hope. I really want this guy to stay in there for another week at least so his lungs can fully develop.

Wish us luck everyone. And please add us to your prayers.

At long last!
Hello long lost LJ. Oh how I have missed you.

Let's see...what's going on?

I am on the cusp of finishing my last corrections for my thesis and my advisor is actually talking about scheduling a defense date soon. Oh joy...how I have dreamed of this moment for so long...

Krisite and I have about 3 months and counting before the little dude is born. We still have no idea what to name him. So far we like:

Liam Hunter McLin
Brendan Hunter McLin
Ian Hunter McLin

Yeah...that it. We could use some more suggestions. ;)

Dilema
I have this dilemma...

There is another guy named Ryan McLin out there who is some 20 year old missionary now serving in Tanzania, Africa. I googled 'Ryan McLin' and found this guy. So...on his little website, he has posted MY actual gmail address so now I am starting to get sappy emails from chicks in Louisiana. I have tried telling them I'm not there guy but they don't believe me! I don't know how to contact this fool and tell him to get his email correct.

Hey! Ryan McLin, get your ass in gear and stop impersonating me!
