things (you probably didn't know) i like. [08 Jul 2008|10:26pm]
[ mood | blobby ]

More recently, I've realized that I've unconsciously geared my journal content towards my lolita friends more than any other audience out there, whereas my LiveJournal used to be a simple photographic record of quirky things that happened in my life for my high school friends once upon a time.

I've had my journal for about 4 years now and I've probably known most of my lolita friends for only 1-2 years at most. Yet, we probably share similar tastes and interests... like a lot of sweet lolitas, I love the color pink, polkadots, having high tea, sewing, Sanrio characters like Cinnamoroll and the Sugarbunnies, etc. -- all predictable likes!

However, I would like to introduce you to a list of things that you probably didn't know that I liked at one point in my life... or still do currently!

Four odd things. )

anime expo 2008 - thursday, july 3, 2008 [08 Jul 2008|01:13am]
[ mood | chuchuchu~ ]

Despite planning not to attend Anime Expo 2008, I ended up buying a 1-day ticket at the last minute when I heard that KERA and Marui One would be there!

the first and last time for okonomiyaki [27 Jun 2008|11:50pm]
After owning this book for a couple of months and using it no more than a spaceholder on my bookshelf, I decided to crack it open and try a recipe.

I always wanted to try okonomiyaki so I gathered up the ingredients and gave it a shot at 9 PM (after my regular dinner). The recipe calls for green cabbage, green onions, bacon, shrimp, eggs, flour, baking powder, salt, water and tonkatsu sauce for topping, which were all easy enough to find.

I know there is an okonomiyaki restaurant in Torrance, which has gotten good reviews... and that Genki Living serves it (though its consistently been given negative reviews), but I've never actually tried this Japanese 'pancake' until today. I didn't know what to expect!

Needless to say, I think this is going to be the first and last time for okonomiyaki. >_<;;

Even though I barely added any oil to the frying pan, it was super greasy and tasted too heavy due to the bacon. My brother acted like I was going to kill him when I proudly and enthusiastically asked him to try it, only to find that I thought it was too greasy upon tasting, as well. Even though it wasn't a great success and my dad said it was a 'good try', it was a bit of a downer for me. T_T;;

My former roommate Rebecca knows that I never cook, except on occasion... I guess I have to keep on trying!

Now that I think about it, I don't even know why I decorated those photos above because it wasn't a super happy memorable experience, haha.

whip magic series selection [16 Jun 2008|09:36am]
[ mood | cheerful ]

Yay, Koni! Thanks for helping me get this. ^^;;;; I almost wish I picked the cupcake hat, too, but $100 seems a lot for that little thing. Who else is getting items from the Whip Magic series? (I picked the bright pink ribbon JSK + accessories).

I've officially graduated as of yesterday! Off to Hawaii!

noooooooooo!! [12 Jun 2008|12:29am]
Seven hours until my 4 hours of exams start. T_T;; I haven't really studied for my Advanced Accounting class; I am so screwed. >_<;;

Also, I thought, what the heck! on Monday night and ordered the pink Angelic Pretty Sweet Strawberry Ribbon JSK.

And although I have no clue if I even obtained the order through the English site, I really wish I asked for the yellow now. Hopefully their stupid 'My Page' contact board works because I asked to change my order 24 hours later.

Maybe someone will trade me!!

P.S. I am so screwed for my Advanced Accounting test. I now know that I will never be a hedge fund investor if I can't make sense of this crap.

P.P.S. I am only semi-screwed for my Accounting Information Systems test because I can probably figure out the Excel work 75% of the way through without studying. LMFAO.

entirely random thought -- because clothing isn't the only thing i talk about, lmfao. [09 Jun 2008|01:52am]
[ mood | *blush blush* ]

Seriously, I always have these crushes on some of my professors & T.A.'s.

(No; not the ones as old as my dad, hahahhahhahahhaha!)

I used to joke around with Matt and Rebecca that I would be willing to date my Econometrics T.A. because 'he always helps with the problems on the homework' ... and of course, that would warrant a look of raised brows from them.

I think I would date my Auditing Theory professor, too. Seriously, haha!

***

And now back to clothing thoughts --

For the first time ever, I am not 110% sure what I want to order from Angelic Pretty. Could it be that I finally have enough crap collected? >_<;; Am I buying things just to buy them?

I think I've answered my question already!

I don't even have a huge lolita collection, but I want some regular clothes now.

[EDIT 2:15 AM] I will get this to wear with my new cognac-colored slouch boots!

favorite pocky flavor, you have not forsaken meeeee!! + wrapped candy*drop bag charm preview! [04 Jun 2008|08:39pm]
[ mood | back to irvine (again) ]

Rejoice! After getting some lunch at Mitsuwa yesterday, I discovered that they recently stocked my favorite Pocky flavor -- Dessert Pocky in Strawberry! These beat the socks off of the regular strawberry ones and the strawberry flavor with those little gritty crunchy bits on them. I haven't been able to find the Strawberry Dessert Pocky at either Mitsuwa or 99 Ranch in ages. I think the last time I had it was last summer (and they were going on clearance at a supermarket). After buying a few boxes to make sure that it's the same flavor as I recalled (they changed the box design), I am seriously going back tomorrow to get some more. Those deceptive little suckers, haha! <3

Bonus photo! Take a look at my newest creation; I call it the Wrapped Candy*drop Bag Charm. Rather than spending Saturday working on my AIS Excel assignment, I decided that I needed a bag charm to coordinate my Enamel Heart Shoulder Bag with the Candy Pop JSK I purchased. (The bag charm that comes standard with the bag is pretty boring).

I know it's a bit difficult to see, but the color scheme is pink x black and the pink/white glass pearls used are the high quality ones I picked up with Rebecca ([info]carmila) awhile back! I wish I had more of these pearls to use for pearl chain brooches, but they're a lot more expensive than using plastic pearls. I only have enough materials to make 12 of these, so I think I will make a few as a commission-style item to offer for sale soon. Keep an eye out!

sugarbunnies + crafts... but what does it mean? [01 Jun 2008|01:25pm]
[ mood | waiting 4 brother to get food ]

I found this cute Sugarbunnies mascot tag maker on Yahoo! Japan yesterday and I'm this close to getting it ('cause I love crafts & Sugarbunnies!), but I was wondering if someone knew if the box says anything about what type of material the tags are made out of.

I am wondering if the little tool laminates the mascot characters or if it's more like a shrinky-dink (flexible) plastic.

Thanks!

Also, I can't check my mail for the next 24 hours. There is no way in hell I will log back into AOL again if the front page news story is about footage of an alien peeping into someone's window. (Thanks, AOL, for showing a preview photo that will be seered into my mind for at least the next couple weeks). After Kelly mentioned it to me on Friday night on CNN, I've been wondering when it would spread to the other news outlets. >_<;;

Seriously, I am scared shitless of 1.) aliens 2.) ghosts 3.) all paranormal things because they are possibly/probably real. And apparently, the more fearful you are, the more you attract those types of things toward you... or at least that's what I've heard. I admit I keep glancing at my [uncovered] window at night while I do homework because of what Kelly said.

Tomorrow I'll be listing a ton of new/like new Angelic Pretty things for sale. It's really time to get rid of the items that have just become part of my 'Closet Collection' and haven't seen the light of day for months. I also have to get over the fact that I never wear colors like blue, so there's no need to have multiple pairs of blue shoes, blue bags, parasols, etc.

Here's a preview list:

1. Heart Tulle Pannier (Black) - $148 (New w/ tag, I got another new black pannier, so I guess I don't need 2)
2. Giftbox Parasol (Blue) - $45 (New w/ tag)
3. Vinyl Tote/Shoulder Bag (Blue x white) - $115 (Used for a couple of hours indoors)
4. Sweet Cake Shoes (Blue) - $150 (New in box, on hold for Ashlee)

[EDIT 6/5/08] I don't think I'm going to ever get everything together in 1 post because I forgot my camera at home, so stuff will go up slowly.

last call! korean bbq in garden grove, ca - 6:30 PM [30 May 2008|01:23am]
So, it was decided that we're going to the following restaurant! Here is the information if you'd still like to come. ^^;;

Cham Sut Gol Korean BBQ Restaurant
9252 Garden Grove Blvd #10
Garden Grove, CA 92842

Time: 6:30 PM - Be there on time or else they won't seat us. >_<;; Haha!

Cost: $21 exactly!
This includes tax/tip already since it's $16.99 a person. Please bring cash!

Dress code note: Though I'm wearing lolita, I don't care what you wear. Just make sure that if you are picky about being around food/food smell/restaurants, then you should not wear your super best $400 chiffon princess frill OP, haha. (Or just wear something you are comfortable kicking back in~)

Hope to see you there!
