Notes: BtVS Season 5, between “Listening to Fear” and “Into the Woods.” Xander’s birthday. (By the reckoning my own internalized canon.) Somewhat inspired by liz_marcs's "snot monster from outer space" icon. Fluffy-esque with Season 5 overtones of angst. As usual, mostly dialogue. And, written in an hour tonight. Okay, I'll shut up with the provisos.

Notes: Written for stoney321’s Gud Summaries Fic-a-thon based on the prompt: Buffy’s a skater, Angel's a skater and Riley turned into a dip despite my best efforts to the contrary.
Warnings: Absolute, utter to-the-bottom-of-the-pipe crack. Blatant use of anachronisms, tongue-in-cheek canon poking and unnecessary 70s/80s song lyrics – possibly as dialogue. Un-betaed. Possibly incomprehensible if you don't remember 1980s roller rinks.

I know that fic-a-thon is a word most of you don't want hear again any time soon (especially those of you still working on your lynnevitational fics) but entrenous88 and I have an awesome idea for a fic-a-thon. Okay, it's probably been done before (there's nothing new under Spike's bum) but...what I need to know is what the fandom calendar looks like this summer.

The B/A ficathon hosted by leni_ba fics are due on June 30

The Gud Summries ficathon hosted by stoney321 fics are due on July 4

The Buffyverse Between the Seasons ficathon hosted by karabair fics are due June 26

And writercon is July 21-23

Does anyone know of any other Buffyverse fic-a-thon due dates? Anything, say, in early August? Thanks for any help!

I keep forgetting I have a fandom journal.

Thoughts on how TV (especially this week's "House," "Bones" and "Veronica Mars") have made me feel stupid are here at my personal journal.

How do those movie trailers go? "Once in a while, a movie comes a long that changes the way we feel and opens our eyes and our hearts..." Followed by a shot of Steve Martin and kidlets and us changing the channel.

This is fic is actually one of those fics that comes along and makes you go..."Huh." Possibly guh. Challenges the way we see 'ships and stretches us into ones we don't tend to see (or wish to.)

Just a quick note that I have stepped down as an editor for the su_herald. I will be keeping this journal as my fandom reading journal and fic posting (should that ever occur) but it's no longer associated with the su_herald (other than when I'm serving as a back-up editor, or should the other editors wish to use it as a search resource.)

Defriending amnesty all around - I'll be flist trimming at some point, mainly communities I'm not into and journals that are no longer Buffyverse - but I'd like to thank all of you so much for your help in making my stint as an su_herald editor fun and educational - you're totally PlaySkool like that.
