HP Debacle [18 Jul 2008|08:56am]
[ mood | irritated ]
[ music | The Voyces - Kissing Like It's a Love ]

I sent in my laptop to be repaired on June 26th.
The tech guy said it would take about a week.
A week later, it wasn't back. I checked the tracking information and saw that the laptop was delivered. I called HP to see what was up. They said it's being repaired and they'll ship it back soon. Okay. Another week goes by, laptop is still not back. I call again. Nobody was of any help. I just said, "fuck it. i'll be patient." (This is where I went wrong. I should have done what I did yesterday back then)

A week later, I called HP again, and that time, I expressed my anger and frustration. (These fuckers only listen to you when you're angry and ask to talk to their supervisor) I was transferred to a case manager in the States that informed me that my laptop was sent to the RECYCLING facility because those idiots sent me the wrong shipping label! RECYCLING! Those fuckers tore my baby open and smashed it!

Then why the fuck did those tech guys say it was being repaired?! WTF! The case manager said that they don't know where the laptop is sent; they just know whether they received it or not. So, they just ASSUMED it arrived at the repair facility. (ASSUME makes an ASS out of U and ME)

Anyway, the case manager agreed send me a replacement laptop of a different model.
(The one I had has been discontinued and the one they're sending me is the successor.)
We got off the phone. I tried to call back 15 minutes later because I thought of a bunch of questions. That was a little past two, and I guess she's on the East Coast, so she didn't pick up.

I wanted to ask about specs 'cuz there are going to be different variations of the same model. Even though it will be a major upgrade, I've been reading a lot of complaints about these replacement machines not working so well...
So, I wanted to demand (not ask, because that doesn't get you anywehre with HP) that I get a credit equal, if not more for the inconvenience and the loss of my peace of mind, to the price of the laptop they're offering so I can just choose a model on my own. (better yet, send me a check so i can get a Dell)

I also don't want my replacement to come with Vista...

I've tried calling her a couple times 5 minutes ago, but no answer.
I'm calling again right now.

I've had it with HP. I'm staying off HP products for good.

this fan music video for "Kissing Like It's Love" is so weird and has nothing to do with the song. but it is funny and sexy. yes...very sexy. hahaha.

Night Shift and Rest of Summer... [16 Jul 2008|08:26am]
[ mood | a bit sleepy... ]
[ music | Data Rock - Fa Fa Fa ]

I actually like the night shift a lot better...
It's a killer from 11 at night to 8 in the morning, but the pay is much better.
It also gives me a legitimate excuse to sleep in until 2 or 3, and you don't have to deal with stupid and weird customers. (but I will miss the occasional hot chicks. :( haha)
I'm not gonna be working every night so, it's cool. i definitely don't spend more than 3 nights a week hanging out with people past 11.
I think it's good experience anyway. just to know what it's like to do something like this...

and the baler is fucking awesome! haha. -_-;

I will miss the friends from my day shift though. :'(.
There's nobody my age group working the night shift.
bleh. i don't know. I'll visit them.

Speaking of friends...
Pat left for his big tour this past weekend and won't be back until mid-august.
Caitlin is leaving for China in a couple weeks.
Great, more people leaving. nobody coming back. *sigh*

I think i'm just gonna work until the end of august.
Then, I'll spend two weeks traveling and taking an actual break. One week visiting Kristie and Kathy in SB, and another week perhaps backpacking to east coast?! (:O) i should probably start looking into that if I actually want to make it happen. It probably won't though because airfare's too expensive. OOH! I'll visit my college friends in Nor Cal! Then I'm moving in early during the third week of September to do move-in assistant, etc.

The peskitarian thing is going alright. I've actually started to lose some weight. I don't look any skinnier though.

Dark Knight (IMAX!) this Saturday! >:D FUCK YEAAAAH!

They're shooting Angels & Demons right now at UCLA!

I was driving around with someone recently and I noticed she had her hand on the shift. I asked her if she was driving a stick and she said she just puts it there because she doesn't know what else to do with it...

so those of you that drive mostly one handedly (yes, i know. it's a terrible habit :/), what do you do with your other hand?

I just let it hang/rest on my lap. I imagine it looks kinda stupid. may be i should start texting while driving.
oops. i do that already sometimes.

Actually had a really good day, something summer hasn't given me so far, despite the hellish heat.

Still waiting to hear from somewhere.
If I get the entry level lab job or the summer science camp job, that would be the best.
I'd have to give up taking History of Rock at FJC but it'd definitely be worth it.
I should have started this job search weeks ago. bleh. it's my fault.

Get Smart tomorrow! :D
Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway :D

I'm drinking with my parents. lol.

P.S.: there's a gaming mouse on w00t right now. would it help improve my minesweeper time? :O

Indestructible iPod [29 Apr 2008|01:46pm]
I used to think Apple conspired to make iPods function just long enough to last until the next model comes out.
Turns out you just need to replace the batteries.

I accidentally dropped my 4th Gen iPod from my bunk bed.
OH SHIT! The impact of the fall jarred the casing loose.
Picked it up, turned it on. works perfectly. lol.

This thing's gotta be at least two years old.
(Wikipedia tells me 5th Gen came out October of 2005)

What a weekend for sports.... [27 Apr 2008|11:27am]
Pat Cowan fucked up his knee and his collegiate career is over...D:
I don't want Ben Olson again. Hopefully Kevin Craft will step up.

On the other hand, Collison is returning for his senior season!! w00t w00t.
but it seems like he'll be the only starter not going to the NBA early.. :/

I'm loving the Chargers' draft picks. They don't have many picks this year but every pick so far looks like a gem. I'm pleasantly surprised they made a move to go up and trade Jacob Hester.

Saw DCI Countdown at The Bridge. It blew my mind, of course.
So much better than watching shows at home on my puny 2.1 system.
But there was no SCV :(
The Bridge is an amazing theater but I think the Arclight will be even better.
Saw Mr. Mike. lol. He appeared to be shorter and broader. gravity doing its thing.
FINALLY got to taste Stephen Colbert's Americone Dream. There are surprisingly few numbers of Ben & Jerry's.

I need to go out more often. there's so much to do in LA!
