Yesterday sucked a hairy wang. I managed to irritate my boss within ten minutes of her arrival, and she was grumpy with me all day. I couldn't fix it no matter how hard I tried, so she let me go home early. On the plus side, I was able to get more awesome goodies for my Crabitat. On the downside, carrying a 10kg bag of SAND all the way home is really awful.

I'm going all out on this summer science project. It's time fill my life with creepy little bastard Hermit Crabs. I'm still having trouble keeping the humidity and temperature proper. Ideally it should be about 75 - 85% humidity with a temperature of 27 °C. It's perfect if I don't have the light on, but is it OK to not have a lamp for them? Would a timer maybe help? Here's how it looks:


Last night, pre-shells and crabs. I was watching 'Return of the King', hence the weird reflection.

I'd only planned on spending $50 on this project, but not having easy access to Wal-Mart or a big name pet store has really caused some problems so far as money goes. I think I'm up to at least $130. These little dudes had better be awesome. I haven't OKed them with my building managers, so if they ask WTF the tank of sand and water dishes is, I'm telling them it's a 'beach away from beach'. No life at all.

As of this morning I've got two of them in there, a big guy and a little guy. I've already named the tiny one Jim Bob (after Jim Bob Duggar), as he is very active. I don't yet know what to name the big one, as he's been buried in the sand since I brought him home. Maybe I'll call him Hilary Duff, as she hasn't really produced anything for awhile. Or Beefcake. Superfly. Nathaniel. Morris. Toxic Pete. I have no idea. Help me decide.

... Actually, no. Cancel that. His name is Maury Povich.

I'll post pictures of them once they've settled and begin showing themselves. For now I'm going to let them chill out and get comfortable. They're absolutely creepy and badass.

I need to buy groceries before my brother comes over later today, as he is recovering from nose surgery and refuses to be seen in public, and won't help me go shopping. Really we should just make him a Jean Chrétien mask like the one he had in grade nine. I hate grocery shopping. And laundry, but today I totally folded and put away an entire basket of clothes. I think that's a first for me. Hooray!

There hasn't been a spider in my apartment all winter, and I'd totally forgotten how terrified of them I am. I was standing in my underpants watching 'The Colbert Report' and playing with a yo-yo when I saw it along the edge of a wall. It didn't move at all, but there it was. I dropped the yo-yo, grabbed a paper towel, and stared at it for a few minutes before tapping on the wall. It shot over the carpet and I lunged at it. I MISSED. I ran across the room and freaked the hell out before a second attempt. I managed to squash it after a few tries, and folded it into the paper a dozen times before sitting on the rug and gagging. Like, totally dry-heaving. This thing was no larger than a nickel, but holy crap, WHY DO THEY MOVE LIKE THAT? I'm still shaking. I hate not having someone around to kill spiders for me. Just earlier today I was talking to Madison about how freaky spiders are. I loathe them so much.

I wish the half-naked yo-yoing while watching TCR was something I made up, but it isn't. This is my life. I still feel all freaked-out and sweaty. Ick ick ick.

Mum agreed to go with me to see the dinosaur show. I agreed to pay for her ticket. She decided my step-dad had to come, too. I said I didn't want shitty seats, so would pay the remainder of anything over the base price of $25. There were five prices to choose from. I went for the middle price of $38 (some tickets were $68 wtf). With all the taxes and fees and shit, this show has so far cost me $140. No matter, it'll be AWESOME.



Rumour has it that the brachiosaurus barely clears the ceiling of Sask. Place Credit Union Centre. Oh god, this is going to be so good. My boss also snagged tickets. I'm so pumped.

There's a girl who works at Ardene (my store's direct competition) who likes to come to my store to try to get a reaction out of me or my co-workers. It's really bizarre. She'll enter and say something like, 'oh my God, I shouldn't be in here! I work at Ardene!' to which I respond, 'I go into Ardene all the time? WTF?' She then goes on to make really dumb comments. 'I can't afford to shop here! Everything's so much more expensive!'

I tell her, 'we lowered our prices last summer. Quite a bit. This stuff is cheap like borscht.'

She says, 'well, you'd have to lower them, since Ardene moved into the mall.'

I say, 'Claire's has stores worldwide. Trust me, it wasn't Ardene. Can I help you or something?'

Then she goes on about how she likes piercing with a spring-loaded gun and lots of other crap, and I'm just ... Dude? I. Don't. Care. I personally think your ear-piercing method sucks a hairy wang, but I don't go and tell you about it. I'll happily spend my money at Aredene. It's a Canadian company and their clothing is cheap. Your customer service sucks ass, but I don't try to bug you about it. The other workers at Ardene are very nice people, and the stores seem to compliment each other. This girl on the other hand ... WTF. Jimmy from Canadian Tire doesn't go to The Home Depot to argue the cost of a Coleman stove. He goes there to shop. Anyway ...

Tonight I have to do laundry. Part of a clean apartment is keeping a proper timetable. I really, really don't feel like washing my clothes, but I really, really need to keep on top of it. The hamper is half full. I will not allow it to get any heavier.

I am also setting up an aquarium. To fill with hermit crabs or something. They're only starting to become available in Canada, so we'll see what happens. This will be my summer science project.

Oh my God, someone please see Walking With Dinosaurs - The Live Experience with me. It's in town from May 21 - 25. I'm not sure words can describe how badly I want to see this show. Holy crap, oh my god, SO COOL.

Also cool is my air conditioner. My only complaint is that it looks really stupid, and the remote control only shows Fahrenheit. I'm thinking I'm going to have to hang some ghetto flags to make up for the exhaust pipe blocking my blinds. Still, check out that majesty!

It doesn't even feel like I live here - It's a whole new suite. It's totally bizarre. Omg.

Whenever somebody tells me their bedroom is too messy to be seen, I kindof want to smack them. My mess was the mess to end all messes. For the past year, I've slowly been burying myself in squalour. Maybe it was depression, maybe it was laziness. Whatever the reason, it happened, and now it's over. It was embarrassing. I'm a tidy person. I keep my job and life very clean. My apartment was another story. It just. Got. Overwhelming. And I just. Didn't. Care.

Finally, it became too much. Instead of spending my money on school or a car, I spent my money on a new life. The things I've learned from this lady are immeasureable, and I'll take it with me for the rest of my life. This absolutely cannot ever happen again. Ever. I'm done with being messy. I'm through with climbing over things. Here are my 'before' photos. Believe it, bitches.

I wish I'd taken more pictures, but then this is a part of my life I really want to forget. Anything not pictured was pretty much the same idea, anyway. Can you see why I needed outside help? There was no way this was going to get done on my own. No way. There's still a few more jobs to finish up today, and then I'll take/post after photos. I've barely slept I'm so excited. Yesterday we worked until 12:15 AM, and after I went to bed, the organiser lady kept working. For free. I peeked into the living room this morning to see she had re-staged everything. This is so cool. I love it. I love it I love it I love it and this has been an insane amount of hard work I love it. I can't wait to finish.

Omg been cleaning since 10:00 this morning. My tummy hurts from cleaning so much, so I'm taking a breather to update. WOW a lot has been going on! It's going so well on day two! It's still a fucking mess, but a LOT has been chucked out, a lot has been cleaned, a lot has been re-sorted and organised. We bought forty-six new coathangers this morning and every single one is now in use. The kitchen is just about done, the storage closets are done, my bedroom closet is almost done, my drawers are done ... All that's left is the living room (finding homes for everything that we uncovered), the linen closet, the bathroom (pretty much clean) and the other half of my bedroom. Oh my god. Yes, it was that bad.

I'm going to cry when I get the bill. $35/hour, plus the fuel for the 788 kilometre round-trip drive in a gas-guzzling truck. This lady usually works 9-5, but we've been going all day since she's here specifically for this job.

I smell like dust and I need to shower. Back to work right away. Seriously, the photos are going to be epic. Thanks for the support!

Last night I dreamt that I was this close to having sex with Kevin McDonald. I was hanging around with some people and the Kids after a show. He was all touchy and huggy and, 'I only sleep with people on Mondays' and I was all, 'hey, it's Monday'. Jesus Christ what the fuck he was old and everything and I totally wanted to bone him. This was supposed to be a post about how I'm going to be out of commission for the next three days because that awesome lady from Weyburn will be here to help me clean my apartment, but it's not working so well because I'm quite a bit drunk. I'm scarfing down some Kraft Dinner to make up for the fact that I haven't eaten supper. Who drinks on a Sunday night? Me, that's who! lufavain decided to come up from Regina, so it turned into a video game festival at Sheldon's house. His mother hates my nose piercing. I love his mother. We spent some time talking in the kitchen, but holy cow, I had to pee so bad. I eventually went and had the best pee of my life. Then more video games, then more vodka, then more video games, then more vodka ... Jesus Christ.

God, this KD is good. Also, we watched some American Pie movie with Eugene Levy and I have never felt so lame watching boobs in my entire life. I think I looked constipated through the whole thing. Again, more vodka, and I survived. Everyone knew I would hate that movie. I really wish I could find that stuff funny, but man ... No. The water balloon launcher part was OK. I think. More vodka, more video games.

My typing abilities are so awesome right now, but my grammar is off-the-wall shitty. Anyway, yeah, I'm AWOL until Wednesday. Before and after photos will be posted. I can't wait to have a tidy apartment. Om nom nom God this KD is SO GOOD I think I'll make some more. Hooray for KD cups. I can definitely cook these up while intoxicated. I'd be ultimate at university if I ever went. Feasting on KD. And stuff. More video games, more vodka, more drive home, more KD, more awesome.

It turns out I've lost nearly ten pounds through the whole sickness ordeal. I still haven't been able to eat a proper meal.

I wish I hated video games. I'm not a video game nut by any means, but ... OK, I'm addicted to video games now and then. I have always been addicted to video games. My point is that I can not afford to be addicted to video games. There should be some sort of rule where I'm not allowed to buy a new game until I've finished the last one. Period. This morning before work I waltzed by Zellers and bought Mario Kart Wii. When I arrived at work, my boss informed me that Zellers had been open since ten, as she had phoned them to ask. I thought it was open at noon like most shops, which is why I asked to keep my original work time of 12:30 (she wanted me in at 12:00 instead, but I said I had to stop by Zellers for shampoo and stuff). I don't think she was very pleased with me, but telling me it was open at ten long after the fact is kindof useless. Anyway, that extra half hour of running errands made a difference in the long run, and I made it through the day. My first customer, though ... WTF.

A (presumably gay) man in his fifties with greying hair comes in and asks me if I have any plastic body jewellery in a 12 gauge. I tell him that the largest I have is a 14, which is smaller than a 12. He tells me that he's planning on flying and doesn't want to set off any alarms. I agree, what with the recent issues of various people having to remove less-than-public jewellery before boarding flights. He goes on to inform me that the jewellery is in his penis. I again agree that it would be very inconvenient, and offer suggestions of where he could get proper jewellery. He thanks me cheerfully and leaves. I seem to get a lot of customers like that. They seem to want to egg me into asking where their piercings are. I wish I could greet people by saying, 'Hi, nothing in the world shocks me anymore, is there anything I can help you find today? Our earrings are all buy two, get one free, and the mangled state of your nipples isn't making me queasy. Hair accessories are all buy one, get one half, but jewellery for your scrotum is not on any sort of sale, so you don't need to ask. Plz stop talking to me and take a basket.'

Mum checked in on me a few times to make sure I hadn't fainted, and most of the colour had returned to my face by the time I closed. I played Mario Kart for a bit, but had to turn it off at Rainbow Road, as Rainbow Road was going to turn my living room into Rainbow Vomit. I have so many good memories of playing Mario Kart. I remember my babysitter in grade two being the mother of my brother's best friend. We'd all sit in the basement and play Super Mario Kart while my brother's friend gave the most hilarious, booming commentary throughout, and would shout obscenities at Donkey Kong. The end music would play and he'd then give a roaring rendition of the theme tune. I have a hard time not cracking up at the cup ceremony at the thought of it.

Thanks for all the good vibes and concern the last few days, folks. It's been really helpful and has meant a lot to me. One of those times where living alone really blows.

Today I woke up feeling much, much better. I don't feel ideal, but compared to this time yesterday, I feel like a million bucks. I'm only eating crackers and drinking ginger-ale, and I'm getting dressed for work. My stomach has been making the strangest noises. It can't go a minute without squealing or gurgling or farting at me. It's bizarre. My little alien baby. It's much less swollen, in any case.

I really want my period to stop, but that's not happening. I've been peeing out my bum for the most part, which is loads of fun, let me tell you. I have a nice pimple on my lip. Earlier I took a shower, which felt fantastic, as I've had more puke in my hair than I'd like to ever have in there again. Tonight I need to get some laundry tokens and do some washing. While Mum took home my poo-stained jeans, I still have my bunnyhug with sick on the cuff from where I was wiping my mouth. Delicious. My sheets could also use a good bath, as could pretty much anything else involved in this ordeal. I'd cleaned my toilet only a few hours before my first sick attack, which ended up being pointless. You know when your Sims barf on The Sims 2? How the toilet looks as though a rhino took a gassy shit in there? That's what my toilet looks like now. So gross. I'd clean it before work if I wasn't trying to avoid any wonky chemical smells. The rugs in the front entrance of my building have just been re-glued, and getting past that smell will be bad enough.

I have to remember to buy hair conditioner, deodourant, and possibly Mario Kart for the Wii. My boss wanted me to come in at 12:00 instead of 12:30, but I'd like that half hour to get my bearings before I work. The game plan was that store inventory would happen this morning and I'd take over at 12:30 (we open at 12:00) after it was all finished. Inventory ended up being done at 11:00, so my boss wanted to just send everyone home and have me open as usual. Seeing as I don't get a break, I'd prefer to have that half hour to hold my stomach and get settled.

Again, thanks for all the advice and love. If any of you are ever sick, hit me up and I'll be sending you just as much love in return. As terrible an experience as I had at the ER the other day, it could have been so much worse. My best guess to it all now is that they wanted me there while they waited for whatever it was I had to run its course. If they hated me that much, they would have sent me home sooner. It made more sense for me to be on an IV and nearby to medicine than at home making sweet love to the toilet. It's been a long time since I've used that emergency room, as they still had Dad listed as my next-of-kin, and said I lived on Haultain Ave, where I haven't lived since 2002.

It's probably the weirdest thing ever that I'm talking back to my stomach, but there really isn't much else to do for the time being. God, this is intense. It's so noisy.

Still bleeding, still shitting, still craving Kraft Dinner. The sharp pains aren't helping. Any home remedies out there? Keeping in mind that I have nothing but beer and strawberry yogourt to work with.

EDIT: Yes, the bleeding is from menstruation. No, I am not going to drink the beer.

I'm a stupid idiot and ate some food when I shouldn't have. The stomach pains are coming back, and to add insult, my left arm hurts like a mofo from the IV. I hurt all over. My tummy is all 'gurgle gurgle' and stuff, and my chest hurts sharply here and there.

Mum just stopped by with some more ginger ale and a harsh scolding for having eaten. 'OMFG I TOLD YOU NOT TO EAT'.

'I only had ... like ... 200mg of Cheerios.'

'OMFG I TOLD YOU NOT TO EAT. ALL YOU SHOULD EAT ARE THREE CRACKERS.'

'Mum, I think I lost a tampon. I don't remember removing it.'

'THAT DOES NOT MATTER. IT WILL WORK ITS WAY OUT. OMFG I TOLD YOU NOT TO EAT.'

I'm in for a rough night. I absolutely have to go to work tomorrow, as no replacement could be found. It's from 12:30 to 5:30, but I'm working the shift by myself. Sucks. My vision is starting to go fuzzy again, so I'm going to attempt to sleep. Again. As I have all day. Augh man.

I am not going back to the hospital. I've managed to not vomit at all today, though the liquishits are hitting me up for another sexy date. Not that I have anything to put out. I lol long time. I feel like I have to puke. I'm so tired of it.

Wow, wtf at my life. Long-ass story coming right up!

Like I said, a cab was dispatched to take me to the hospital. While waiting for it, I barfed all over the front step of my apartment building. When the cab arrived, we had to stop once so I could barf out the door. We finally arrive at the hospital, I pay my fare, and go to check in. The first thing I'm told is, 'we're full, so it's going to be quite a wait ...' Faaaaabulous. The waiting room is packed. My blood pressure and vitals are taken, I'm handed a kidney dish, and I go to wait with all the other sick bastards of the world.

I instantly begin retching. A lot of the people waiting with me are young and alarmed. Rather than sick them out, I go around a corner and park my ass on the floor to throw up. Every so often, a cleaning lady walks by and replaces my kidney dish. After awhile I begin to feel really de-hydrated, so they hook me up to an IV, as giving me water to drink would probably only add to my problems. I nearly fainted during the insertion of the IV, but I keep it together, piss in a cup for them and barf some more. At one point, an announcement is made over the loud-speakers: 'ATTENTION STAFF - Emergency is FILLED TO CAPACITY.'

I hate to be the person waiting to ask for a bed or to ask about wait times, but I'm beyond uncomfortable. I'm told that there just aren't any beds, so they set me up on an exam table. In a storage closet. All through the night, people stop by to get paper supplies from filing cabinets. I begin to get the liquishits, so move along the hall to the bathroom, tripping on my IV pole. A nurse can't help but look at me in amusement.

'Sweetie, try holding the pole to the side instead of kicking it. I swear, it works.' Ah, sweet movement. My bag is changed several times. My storage closet is right next to check-in, and it becomes clear why I'm waiting. At one point, a paramedic rushes through with the tiniest baby I've ever seen in my life. One woman decided it would be a good idea to use the bathroom, and ended up having a baby on the bathroom floor. Eight weeks early. The father had to have been the most shocked man in the world. 'Oh my God, babe. You just had a baby. You just had a baby.' Rofl.

At six-thirty I wander down to the children's ward to use the telephone to phone my mother. She shows up around eight with some ginger-ale. Woo hoo. Finally, finally a doctor sees me. She pushes on my stomach, asks if it hurts, and then orders a blood test. I'm determined to not freak out. Blood tests are the worst thing for me. My mum ends up having to hold me down while I flail and freak out while a nurse takes my blood. I babble and ramble and tell the nurse I hate her, later on saying that I'm sorry our relationship got off to a bad start, and that I'm sure we could be great friends later on.

Another nurse comes in and adds a second IV to my pole. I'm on my fourth bag of sodium chloride, but the second one is a bunch of plungers of medicine for my stomach. Tubes galore, man. Tubes galore. My brother shows up and takes over babysitting for my mother. He phones work for me and tells them I won't be in. I thank him by shitting my pants. The nurses are very unimpressed, and I'm a total wreck. I don't want to bend my right arm from having had blood drawn, and my left arm is useless because of the IVs. The nurses harshly push me in to the bathroom and tell me to clean myself up. I tell Jae to phone Mum and tell her that her twenty-year-old shit her pants like a big girl. Hooray for everyone!

Jae goes out to get me some clean clothes, and I ask the nurses if there will ever be a bed for me. They tell me 'no', which changes their earlier story of 'you'll get the next one available'. I try to sleep. Another nurse wakes me up and says I can have a bed. In the children's ward. But that I'll have to 'fend for myself'. WTF, who tells that to an ER patient? Whatever.

I get to this bed without any pillows, and begin to barf again. Hooray. I tell them that their wastebasket is full of vomit, they change my IV for the fifth time, but the wastebasket is ignored. I'm bleeding and shitting and puking and generally hating everything. Jae shows up again and I tell him he can go. I pull out my phone and try to send a text message to Sheldon, bitching him out for the popcorn. Unfortunately, the medicine has made my eyesight all wonky, and I can't see shit. I dig around for my glasses, which help a little bit, but I can still barely see. Sheldon is all 'WTF' and I'm all 'I NO, HAY?' At 2:00, a nurse arrives and tells me I'm being discharged before removing my IV. In my joy, I vomit, but keep this to myself, as earlier on I was told I couldn't go home until I stopped puking. I get my shit together and head over to tell them I'm going.

'So ... What was wrong with me?' I ask the nurses who probably want me to die in a fire at this point.

'Well, what did the doctor say?'

'I haven't seen a doctor since eight o'clock. I was hoping you might know.'

They stare at me. 'Then obviously, nothing was wrong with you.'

Hooray. My faith in the healthcare system? 100% RESTORED. I kept falling asleep in the waiting room while waiting for Mum, who buys me some Popsicles before taking me home and helping me into bed. I tell Sheldon that we won't be fulfilling our plans of going out tonight, which really sucks, as I'd been looking forward to getting wasted on the first Friday night in forever. I've been given tomorrow off work to rest some more. I only just woke up and turned on the computer. Thanks for the concern and comments, guys. I really appreciate it. My arms are all gross and sticky from various medical tapes, and my napkin leaked in my sleep, and I just feel fan-fucking-tastic. No really, compared to this morning? I feel like a million bucks. Which means I feel like shit. Ah well, good times galore.

I'm feeling woozy again, so I'm going back to sleep. Love you all.

EDIT: WTF it's 7:50 AM? It's Saturday? I thought it was 7:50 PM. On Friday. Magic.

I just got off the phone with Healthline, and they're sending a cab to take me to the emergency room. What the fuck stomach pains. I'll be so pissed off I die.

I think my buddy Sheldon would like me more if I weighed 400 pounds. We went to see 'Run, Fatboy, Run', and he insisted on a huge thing of popcorn between the two of us. Through the WHOLE MOVIE he kept shaking the bag at me. Even if I took some, he'd shake it again before I'd even finished. He gave me the whole drink to myself and insisted I eat the candy. I had just finished supper and was painfully full after two handfuls. Still, he shook the bag at me. Now that I'm home, I can really feel it. Oh god, my stomach. It hurts. I will be pooping popcorn for a week.

Unlike Sheldon, I've been good buddies with Madison since Kindergarten. Trust the people you grew up with to be hardcore dream-crushers!

As I mentioned somewhere else, I've hired a professional organiser to come help me sort my shit together. After speaking with her on the phone today, I'm convinced she's the best person for the job. Great sense of humour, great ideas, great success stories. I thought she'd be coming up from Regina, but she's actually in Weyburn, which is another 110km South of Regina. She was concerned when I said I'd be covering all of her costs (even a hotel room), but I need to do this. She said she'd happily crash on my living room floor, so long as she could smoke somewhere. Haha. There's a motel in Grasswood I could always set her up in. I have no idea how grody it is, but it's got to be ten times better than my apartment right now. Now I just need to confirm days off work, and then we're all set for the beginning of May. Omg, I'm nervous/excited.

I never want to eat popcorn ever again.

EDIT: The fullness became too much and I tried to make myself puke. Yeah, it's that bad. Instead of puking, I strained my throat and jaw a whole lot, so now that hurts too. Jesus. I want this food out of me like you have no idea.

My bathroom now smells strongly of butter. On the plus side, I feel so much better.

EDIT 3: So much for feeling better - I think I'm legitimately ill. I just went and threw up all over the place again, only it was after the bismuth, so it was just awful. I still feel gross. I'm hoping that's it, as I'm not sure my stomach can take much more. ( Time killing survey )

In the ten minutes it took for me to do an ear piercing, midget thieves ravaged my store. Among the victims missing from their packaging were Dora the Effin' Explorer and a Grow-Your-Own Spider-Man.

Gee-golly! Kids these days! What will they think of next?

Man, WTF is wrong with me? I'm tired as heck but I just can't sleep. I slept for a total of forty-five minutes last night before going to work. I'd hoped to come home and crash right away, but here I am after 3AM unable to sleep. My meds haven't changed, my habits haven't changed, I just can't sleep anymore. This is really wearing me down. I'll be running on adrenaline before I just crash. I keep myself awake long enough to make it home and into my pyjamas, but then I'm awake again. Not cool.

In COOL NEWS, I received the BEST PACKAGE EVER from claudiall!!! A complete sketchbook of beautiful pictures, including a picture she had drawn me for my sixteenth birthday. Totally stoked, man. Gorgeous art on every page, some with colour, some just sketches. Harry Potter and Disney and TinTin and originals and characters from shows I don't even watch but it totally doesn't matter because I am totally enamoured with them anyway! Absolutely exceeded my expectations, ma'am. You're beyond talented. I had to pick up the package from the mall where I work, and was able to share some pictures with my co-workers. So happy with it. You're a complete dear for filling those pages for me!

I'll take pictures of a few pages here and there once I'm out and awake and productive (with your permission, claudiall!). It's supposed to rain tomorrow, and then snow like heck again on Monday. I wish I could just sleep through it. Slumber refuses to make me its bitch. My brain's gone all wonky.
