...You know, I don't know if this is temporary, but I feel really inadequate. Nothing I draw come out right, and I feel like giving up art. I almost cried the other day after finding out that Adam Hughes has a dA account.

...Don't take that the wrong way. I love Adam Hughes. I worship him. I don't know why I almost started crying. It was partially joy and partially "Oh fuck, my stuff will never look that good". I found his gallery after I decided to look at Kaori Tanaka/Soraya Saga's gallery again in near tears with the same feeling. Though, I had had a double dose of that. I went to her gallery after flipping through some of the doujinshi I happen to own of her work (...before any of you even ask....yes, it was the rauchy stuff. Elements Unplugged and 6' Rodeo for the collectors wondering, because I ALWAYS GET SOMEONE EMAILING ASKING LEAVE ME ALONE DAMMIT NO I'M NOT SELLING THEM :[)

In other news, the neighbor's cat has been a sweetie. He keeps coming by looking for our dog. She had pretty much adopted the cat as her puppy, and they were so sweet together. It's been really sad. But Darren (that's the cat) has been mewing at me asking about Xena and then coming and sitting on my lap when I'm outside.

....So, my copy of "Devil's Material Collection" (DMC4 artbook) came in the mail this week.

I've always HATED the artwork for the DMC games as much as I liked the series overall. As retardedly hilarious as Mikami is, he has bad taste in art. I do have most of the artbooks for the games, but they're absolutely horrible. I almost never pull them out, and that's probably part of the reason I never do DMC fanart, since I have no incentive to look at the concept art. Honestly, usually the only good art in those books are the pieces picked to be on the covers. (DMC1 has especially ugly concept art, IMHO.)

But this book...it's now my favorite artbook. It's like...Capcom let the BoF dev team work on the DMC games and told Shinji Mikami to go fuck himself; IT'S FUCKING AWESOME--gods, I love Capcom's artists so much, I really do. I love DMC4's artwork, and haven't stop looking through this book over the past three days.

...It also makes me want to cry, since it reminds me of what I'm not doing with my life now.

Yay.

Heh, I can't believe it. I'm nearly 30 years old, and I'd still give my left kidney to work for Capcom :\.

I have to say, the shitstorm for the MGS4 spoilers is actually BETTER than the shitstorm for XSIII spoilers a couple of summers ago. I mean, it was nothing I didn't see coming, but that gave me something smile about for little bit :3. This is the kind of stuff that reminds me of why I wanted to go into making video games to begin with. Not that's going to happen anytime soon (if at all), but still!
