Everyone should have a significant other as loyal and devoted as you. Even though you were born to be a star and shine in the limelight, you remember that the people around you are just as important as you are. Your first instinct is to take care of the people in your life, whether it's your family, your team, your unit, or your friends. Some might call you a natural leader.
In fact, you're almost too good to be true. Hard-working but not obsessive; thoughtful but not wallowing in angst; open-minded but also practical, principled but still pragmatic.
Where things start to go wrong for you, probably, is that you're too nice. People take you for granted, play on your sympathies, or manipulate you by tapping in to your love of being the center of attention. You need to stop being other people's punching bag and start looking out for Number Frakking One once in a while.Tags: bsg, meme Current Mood: hungry Current Music: Dark Walls - Moving Units

To help get your Monday started, here are four songs that have been getting a lot of play time around here over the weekend. All of the mp3s have been uploaded via yousendit, and I'd appreciate a comment if you download anything. Enjoy! - Kids - MGMT- Cape Cod Kwassa - Vampire Weekend- A Nervous Tic Motion Of The Head To The Left - Andrew Bird- Viva La Vida - ColdplayI also updated jackieoceanart yesterday with photos of a pirate mailbox that I painted for my family a few years ago. I'm going to be starting a new mailbox for them soon. If the rain holds off today then I'm hoping to at least get the base coat spray painted on before I have to leave for work later. Last night I started working on a character portrait of Ben to go with the other Lost portraits that I've done. People keep sending me messages asking me to draw Ben, so I figured I might as well go ahead and cross his picture off the list. I saw Iron Man for a second time last night. That movie is just so much fun. And it's good to know that it still holds up after more than one viewing. This time around I noticed some fun little things that I didn't notice the first time, like Tony showing up as "The Starkster" on Rhodes' phone when he calls. I also finally realized that the reason I was recognizing the voice of Jarvis the computer was because it was Paul Bettany. I knew that British voice sounded familiar! I still have to watch BSG from last Friday. Hopefully I'll get a chance to do that when I get home from work. I'm curious to see what Starbuck's crew has been up to. My lesson plans for the children's classes that I'm teaching this summer are all done. I e-mailed them in for approval earlier in the week, and got the thumbs up from my manager, so at least that is already to go. It's essentially the same lesson plan as last year, just edited to work for this summer. I'm not teaching for as long, so it made it easier for me to cut out projects that weren't as popular as other ones. I did some re-arranging of things from last year as well so that kids who are usually there in July will get a chance to do some of the August projects and visa versa. I also won't be doing a Harry Potter themed day this year, since there is no new book, but I'm keeping the Pirate themed days because those are always hugely popular. It rained all day yesterday here, but that was a good thing. We really needed the rain, and so did I because it helped the pollen count go down. My nose is much happier today. As a result though, the temperature is back down to the 50's, but I'm ok with it. At least it's sunny and blue skies. My grandmother is coming to visit from Pennsylvania today and my younger brother who is in grad school at NYC is coming with her. It will be good to see both of them. Grammy will be leaving with mom in a few days to go to my cousin's wedding in Seattle, but then she'll be coming back here to visit for a few more days. And the Lilac Festival is starting soon, so I think we'll be taking her there. I love the Lilac Festival. The colors are always beautiful, and there's music and food, and especially fried dough. Fried dough is my favorite carnival/festival food ever, but I only get to have it like once or twice a year. Man, do I look forward to the fried dough. Oh, and the kettle corn! How could I forget about the awesome kettle corn? Why yes, as a matter of fact I am hungry right now. I have the day off from work, so I'm hoping to get a chance to do some drawing today. I haven't gotten a chance to do much drawing lately, between grad school stuff, family stuff, and work. Also, totally random thought, but was there ever any more word on that rumored TV movie for Gilmore Girls to wrap up the loose ends and such that the final season never really got to? Because that would be awesome if they actually did that. I miss having new Gilmore Girls to watch, and I was disappointed with how the series ended. All of that Christopher crap was such a waste of time.
