Last night seemed destined to be a complete and utter suck-fest.
I had napped right after getting home from work and when I woke up, I was feeling very moody. It didn't help that my grandma made my most loathed of dinners (Mexican ghetto spaghetti--which last night was actually elbow macaroni--and pork steak).
In vain, I had hoped I could find some solace online, but none would come.

mirandixlp. I sent her a distress text, and like Batman with his searchlight signal, she came to my rescue.
In celebration of Miranda's new job, we went to this surprisingly nice sports bar on Ft. Lowell called The Depot. It has a very unassuming and very dive-esque exterior, but inside, it was pretty swanky--even better than some of the gay bars I've been known to frequent.
Anyway, they were having karaoke night. Knowing me, it is nigh unto impossible to resist putting forth the act that I could sing.
Since the crowd started off very light, I did three songs in fairly quick succession. I sang "Plush" by Stone Temple Pilots (one of my new recent signature songs), "Basketcase" by Green Day and "If You're Gone" by Matchbox 20.
Randix shanghai'd Kyle (one of her friends, who's singing voice is identical to my own) and I to sing "Waterloo". Even thought it was a "straight" sports bar, that went over pretty well, not only with the karaoke emcee, but with the mostly-sorostitute crowd.
What also rocked was that I was able to get a burger and three Hefeweizens for about $20. Not too shabby at all.
Today though, I am paying for having jalapeños in my burger.
But that's life.
I'm very glad for last night--not only did it rescue me from an otherwise miserable evening at home, but it helped me prepare for a lovely long weekend.

I've had it with mein kar. Another thing has added itself to the long list of things it needs and quite frankly, that's one thing too many.
It's bad that since March I haven't had sufficient money to do anything major like pay for the costly repairs or even god forbid, put a down payment on another one.
Now that I'm back at Intuit earning what I was before BofA decided to ass-rape me for my money, I can save for a replacement for Mina in about 2 months or so.
Let it be so.
And until then, let poor Mina last at least that long.

Goddamned Sallie Mae... they shanghai'd me into creating an account that effectively has me at their mercy and have to accept a monthly repayment on mostly their terms. Not only that, said account had to be created within 24hrs and I have to have proof of it by printing out a confirmation email; as that is my "golden ticket" or whatever to show that I indeed set it up.
Anyway, I did create that account. I got an email "confirmation", which is really nothing more than a very plain, generic text message. This might've been passable back in say, oh 1996, but if I'm told to keep something as irrefutable proof that I am willing to cooperate and get my loans paid off, I am highly doubtful that such a trifle of an email will save my ass should someone on their end doubt my willingness to cooperate. I think something with say, an IMAGE or something like a Sallie Mae logo would be make it look more officious.
( See for yourself )
Worse, when I tried to call to confirm my receipt of confirmation, the stupid automated line told me that no one was able to help me and to call back in an hour. GRRRRR...

Recently (though thankfully not lately), I was having an issue where I would randomly get IM'd from these unknown people who would have "salmon" in their screennames.
At first I was freaked out by these random messages (especially when one of the IMers told me to kill myself), but then I just started blocking them.
Luckily,
phoenixcub (who had been the victim of such IMs himself) found out where these pointless messages were coming from. And this Wiki article explains what the haps is.
That's a relief. Some people have way too much time on their hands.

So, earlier tonight I found out something about my very-frequently-vandalized car (especially on the windows, but more recently, an errant egg thrown at it). ( And, to spare those who could care less about my family goings-on, it's all behind the cut. )

I feel very depressed and I don't know why. By all accounts, I shouldn't feel this way at all.
I picked up my final check at Target yesterday, and holy hell, was I surprised by the amount on it! I actually got paid for a full 80 hours, even though I scarcely worked 40 in my last workweek. I certainly didn't mind the nice chunk of change that I have to tide me over til my first check at Intuit.
Hell, on Devon's invite, I even went over to their house and spent a good night getting drunk at several bars.
Granted, I had a hangover today upon waking up at 11:00, I spent another good day with my friends and had pizza and went swimming.
I guess hearing Adam talk about his exes and how he's been in "contact" with them as of late has me down. I think I gleaned a bit of his malaise and it's affecting me.
Hopefully this feeling will subside soon.

The following is a transcription of a text message exchange Miranda and I had earlier.
Mir: I just saw dead people!
Me: u mean haley joel osment?
Mir: No real dead people. big rollover on grant (road)
Me: holy cuddly monkey! r there any fatalities?
Mir: Nothing could survive the compression of the top of that suv. pancakes would be smooshed.
Me: zoinks :(
Mir: Yeah. the 80something gramma in the 80's toyota sedan was fine. the sweet ass suv was done and the damage on the driver side (was the) worst.
Me: omg. that's sad.
Mir: Yeah. it was a real mess. cops, ambulances, but my fav part: the guy who tried to cross @ that x-walk to go to jackindabox.
Me: wow
Mir: He walked right into their accident scene just as if he owned it. i was horrorstruck.
Me: that's unreal. either he's an inconsiderate jacktard or he was oblivious to it all
Mir: There were lights & sirens & he wore no sunglasses. he was just jonesin' for a bfast jack.
Me: i could make a comment on the desensetized human nature of society, but honestly, a brefixt jack sounds good right about now
Mir: LMAO! wow.

I've known for years that one's horoscope should be more of a general guideline for your life rather than an exact depiction of the day's/week's events. But every now and then, I have to smile when my horoscope hits the nail on the head with what I was gonna be doing. Hence, this, my 'scope from yesterday:
I had actually spent some time with Adam at Borders lingering in the "occult" area of the bookstore. I even looked at the Grimoire For The Green Witch--it looked very interesting.
Anyway. Today's my first day back at Intuit. I'm excited, but I know my first few weeks will be spent in boring training.
Last, here's a pic I snapped last night in response to one of
bobo_dreams's posts:

With today's planetary configuration, you can expect to be in a more meditative mood than usual, INVERNAL. You will be confronted by some big questions and will be trying to answer them on a metaphysical level. It's easy to imagine you lingering in the esoteric section of bookstores and even staying late into the evening reading some book on metaphysics.

With 30 minutes to spare, I present my offering to Green Shirt Thursday. I probably should've taken more steps to look less disheveled, but I'm about to go to bed, so I figured it's not worth it at this point. A very "sheveled" Aaron is all you're getting tonight, unfortunately. :p
Anyhoot... this is my current favorite shirt. As you can see it's in the aqua shade of green. The hat is worn to hide the fact that my hair looks like a bunch of explosive charges were set off in my scalp.
Post done! Shower now! Bed soon!

Today was rather productive. After weeks (dare I say, even months?) of not cleaning my room, I decided to tackle it. What, you say? You think that so long between room cleanings is madness? Nay! I'm fortunate enough to not be a slob and can actually keep my floor and desk space free of clutter and such. My bed however, is another story.
L'anyhoodle, since I don't have any carpeting on my floor (or anywhere in the house, for that matter), dust accumulates QUICKLY. I don't have dust bunnies, they were full-grown jackrabbits--seriously, yo. So broom in hand, I decided those suckers had to go. A quick follow-up mop and my room was as pristine as a Hilton suite (maybe not Paris', but you get the point).
And because I haven't worn one in a while, I put on a bandanna/babushka to keep my brow free of sweat.
( Looks! I even has pictures for you! )

Blake wasn't there on Saturday for my last shift. Actually, neither was half the crew. We seemed horribly short-staffed and it took me until almost store-open to finish up (from 10:00PM to 7:30AM)--LONGEST SHIFT EVER!
Sadly, I didn't get to say bye to most of the people. But I'll keep in touch with those that matter.
I spent all of Sunday relaxing and Monday was more or less my day to readjust to a regular schedule. This late post shows that there's still a ways to go. I have, however, showered for the evening, so I'm almost to bed as I type.
Earlier, Xander had treated me to an advanced showing of Pineapple Express (well, not actually "treated", he had a spare ticket he got for free and invited me along). Honestly, I hadn't seen a Seth Rogen movie before and very few Judd Apatow films, and if this is to be taken as a prime example of both of their finest works, I think I need to see what I've missed out.
There was hilarity throughout the majority of the film. Some parts were a little much (I won't say what), but the whole film was definitely worth it. Having not paid a single cent to see it, I think the LULz came more naturally than having had to force myself to think it was good so that I wouldn't think I wasted good money on it. Does that make any sense?
Anyway, that's all. Night!

So, I haven't gotten a chance to talk to Blake at work. Hopefully he's gonna be there tonight, lest I lose my chance to ask him out--which isn't entirely forever, as I'm hoping to still hang out with those guys and maybe he'll come along as well.
I did hang out with a few of them today after work at Starbucks (thankfully there's one across the mall parking lot). Sean was there. The more I spend time getting to know him, the more typical straight guy he is. He and a couple of other guys were going non-stop about video games. Not necessarily something completely foreign to me, but definitely not something I have much experience with as much as I used to. They also talked about and beer and alcohol. That's a little more familiar ground for me now.
Anyway, Sean will not be working tonight, and because I never got a chance to be completely alone with him, I never got the opportunity to come out to him. Ah well...
It ends tonight, though, so I'll have to make the most of it.
A few other points to make:
--It turns out that that mysterious $10 service fee that Chase charged my account was due to the fact that I didn't set up a direct deposit with Target. Apparently my account is specifically direct deposit and for some reason, it's a burden to them for me to deposit my money directly into my account or some dumb shit like that.
--On my way home, I was behind this truck where the guy driving was picking his ear. Not just picking, but like seriously panning-for-gold-in-the-Klondike digging. I'm not above admitting that I occasionally pick my nose while driving, but never to the point where I'm swerving onto the water run-off part of the street where the road meets the curb.
--I'm starving right now, I haven't eaten anything since I took a break at work last night. However, I'm not gonna eat until tonight--in grand Scooby-style tradition, we're celebrating Gloria's birthday at Sushi Garden. I wanna make sure I can satisfactorily get my NOM on at their all-you-can-eat sushi buffet.

Happy Lughnasadh to my Wiccan/Pagan friends!
Happy 1st of August to everyone else!
So I ended up sleeping from 11:00AM yesterday morning to about 10:30PM last night. I've been up ever since then. But because I spent my morning chatting with friends, making breakfast and watching YouTube videos, I'm sad to say that I am still in my pajamas.
Well, another part of that is because I've spent an awful lot of time reading/commenting on the entire backlog of posts on Pundit Kitchen (which is, bee-tee-dubs, a subsidiary of the I Can Has Cheezburger site). Don't ask why, I was just killing time because I was bored at 3:00AM.
I've already managed to get myself in a bit of a Sisyphus-esque debate with someone on there over the issue of guess what? Gay marriage! It's disheartening to see some people using archaic counter-argument fallbacks such as "if gay marriage is allowed, what next? people marrying horses? LuLz" or things of the like. Also comparing it to pedophilia or alcohol/drug addiction is really a sad and irresponsible way to refute an intelligent and scientific fact-backed argument. It's also exhausting because in spite of these irrefutable points of logic presented at them, they refuse to acknowledge such common sense. Why did I ever decide that was a good idea to get into it with them?
But like any good homo taking up the rainbow flag and continuing the good fight my queer fore-fathers and mothers began, I'm not prepared to back down and you can sure as hell bet that I will do so for every stupid argument against anything I believe in and know in my heart to be right.
Now... if only the bathroom were freed up, I could shower and get some errands done before having to relax before tonight's penultimate shift at Target.

Only two more days at work.
It really sucks. Now that I'm on my way out is when I'm actually starting to let my personality shine through and I'm actually becoming friends with my co-workers.
And despite the encouraging comments on my last post, I doubt that I'll work up the cajones to ask Blake out. I'd really like to, but my gaydar just failed on one of my co-workers/friends named Sean. I assumed he was gay, but I found out he's not. It makes me wonder if I'll be wrong about Blake too. I was also planning on coming out to Sean so that he could maybe be my wing man and maybe help me get Blake to talk to me.
I dunno... I have Friday and Saturday left. Maybe I'll pull something off then. I have been talking some of my other co-workers and seeing if we can arrange a get-together outside of work. Hopefully something'll come together.
Wish me luck.

I need help.
There's this incredibly sexy guy at Target. Ever since I first laid eyes on him, I had an inkling as to the possibility that he might be gay. Naturally, since then I've also wanted to ask him out.
The thing is, I'm not quite sure if asking someone out at work would constitute sexual harassment or not. I remember from my new-hire orientation that they said that dating co-workers wasn't looked down, just to not let it get the way of one's work.
My last week is coming up and I need to ask this guy before its too late or else I'll regret it forever.
I had already prepared a little speech to tell him in a way that addressed my intents without making any comments that could possibly be misconstrued. I didn't write it down, but here's how it went:
Thoughts? Suggestions? Help, please!

So a few people on my friends' list have been talking about and getting their hair cut in the past few days. I thought I'd throw my hat into the ring and say that I've actually come to a complacency with my folicular head covering.
Because I've been sweating so much at my job, I've taken to wearing hats more often. Not only do they keep the sweat off my face, they also work to keep my hair back. Never before have I actually LIKED combing my hair back, but with the surge of natural oils in it and the way the hats work to "train" my hair to stay down, it's actually been looking pretty good as of late.
So last night before I took my shower, I snapped a couple of pics. I snapped a few more after the shower as well.
( The pics. No need for alarm. Mercifully, they're all worksafe. )
