Geographically: I'm back in New Jersey for the first time in 7 years and I'm working in NYC.
Virtually: Clearly I'm not on here ever. If you're interested, you can find me in any of these lovely places. Feel free to add me or read me here:

awesomeness

well. i figured it would be hard for me to keep up with writing in here. i just lose my motivation instantly. so sad. anyway. my cat is sitting here on my desk playing with the mouse while i type this. just thought you should know that.

life has been awesome as of late, i cannot complain at all.

awesome purchases:
- sweet robot keychain
- black and hot pink polka dot tie
- jeans.
- tshirt that i drew a sweet robot on.
- the final cut pro BIBLE so i can learn everything and someday become certified.

awesome places i am going soon:
- tampa, to see DEPECHE MODE and THE BRAVERY!!
- to see electric six.
- to see metric.
- to new jersey (hopefully sooner than later) to see my family and janey and to have a graduation party.

awesome things:
- finally having a little bit of money.
- my sister is back at school and doing very well.
- job offer from a production company!! (clearly, the interview went well. however, a huge pay cut would be involved)
- being a freelance editor in my spare time.
- realizing that i can customize my own clothes and make them super cool.
- my friends. you are all amazing!
- jenn. *sigh* <3 <3
- sarah and i are going to get our band back together!! we want to make a for-real band now, so we need a drummer and a bassist. anyone interested?

it is very rare for me that i am this happy so i figured i should document it.

changes

so it has been 17 months since i've been on here and it's weird to be back. who knows how long this will last but i'll play around with ol' lj again.

now, i don't plan on recapping the past 2 years or so of my life, so i'll just say where i am now and the stuff in the middle can be inconsequential. i just graduated UCF in august (finally!) with a BA in cinema studies. a lovely and useless degree. i am dating and now living with my former-good-friend-turned-girlfriend jenn, and i couldn't be happier. through everything that has happened to me i have really learned who my true friends are and i love the people around me immensely.

i'm still at urban outfitters. it'll be 3 years come november. and i'm beyond ready to leave. it's time. either i need a promotion or i need to quit. and the promotion i wanted was given to someone else and i probably would've hated it anyway (or so i tell myself) so i guess it's time to quit. it's hard to think about it because i'm so comfortable there. it's like a crazy family, and it usually is fun. and i'm very good at what i do. but i hate working weekends and late nights and not getting paid nearly what i should be. so it's probably time to move on.

that being said, the job market for film/tv/production/etc is impossible. somehow, though, i managed to get an interview. tomorrow. oh my god, i am so excited. and so ... scared. i just have to be confident and hopefully it will work out for the best.

show tonight!

hey! sarah and i have a show tonight! we're playing at stardust at 9pm. it's entirely FREE and open to all. they serve coffee and beer and rent out a shitload of hard to find indie and foreign films. it's a really cool place and will be a really cool show, for several reasons:

1. we haven't played a show in a very long time.
2. tiffany (sarah's girlfriend) is opening for us.
3. sarah wrote a new song and it's very good.
4. sarah's birthday was 2 weeks ago and mine is next week, so it's THE BIRTHDAY SHOW!! bring us prezzies.

it's not so bad ...

ok so the last few days of my trip, when the sun finally decided to shine, were actually rather fun. i got over myself and my whining and ended up having a great trip. here's the rundown of everything i did:

friday: got into town, ran errands with mom, got my hair cut a little shorter than i wanted to, hung out with some old barnes & noble friends for miranda's birthday.

saturday: went to see my sister's horseback riding lesson at the asscrack of dawn (i was not too happy about that). got a weird cramp in my calf trying to get out of bed. whined about it all day. took a nap on the couch with the dogs. went to dinner at my aunt's house with my family, where i got to see Evil Nana. fairly uneventful dinner, as the only comments she made were regarding my hair ("what is that on top of your head?" "hair"). finally got to see jane, my best friend. we drove around and had a dance party. we met up with jason at paradise, a completely weird gay club. we left about 30 minutes later.

sunday: went shopping with my mom and sister. had dinner with my parents and my mom's best friend barbara (coolest woman alive). met up with my friend katie from high school and we had chai and caught up on the past year or so.

monday: jane and i went to visit our old high school. they added on this really nice new wing and we were overwhelmed. we talked to some of our old teachers. they all seemed to unknowingly rub in the fact that it's going to take me at least 5 years to graduate. bit of an ego killer. picked my mom up from work and went shopping. got a blazer. very happy about that. it needs some tailoring though. by the end of the evening i was very, very cranky and depressed. got over it the next day.

tuesday: took mom to work. went with my sister to see a movie ("club dread" ... funny but idiotic, but brittany daniel is reason enough to see it) and shop a little. didn't buy anything, then made her rush home so i could be there in time for "america's next top model." went to barnes & noble, got a book.

wednesday: went shopping in red bank with mom. got a slide whistle, big glasses, some paul frank stuff, some used books, and a slide whistle. a slide whistle! yee-haw! had lunch with my mom and sister, then hopped a train to the city. saw jane and christine and emily and danny. yay! got a bag. exciting, i know. went home and had a massive dinner. passed out eventually.

rock the vote! ... or whatever

while the country is busy hating mtv (or are they over that whole boob thing now? i'm so out of the loop), mtv has found someone to hate: my job. no, really. not just urban outfitters, but my store!! haha. check this shit out. awesome. stupid gainesville girl. i knew i hated gainesville for a reason. i wish they had come and interviewed us; we are easily the cutest overall staff of any urban anywhere, and we could totally have acted cool for them. damn. someone call mtv, tell them we're ready to tell our side of the story!

seriously though. imagine if an mtv camera crew showed up. oh jesus. all hell would break loose. that would rock.

p.s. the "everyone loves a jewish girl" shirt they mentioned, the one with the dollar signs and shopping bags on it, I HAVE IT. haha!

i'm not gonna lie, i do love the cardigans

so i love the cardigans, i have for years. i got their new cd, which hasn't been released in the US yet. it's very mellow and sad, but it's really nice. this is my favorite song, it's incredibly sad. i mentioned that already once, but here's the lyrics. nina persson has a beautiful voice.
