tutorial [ICON CREDITTING]
One day this week I realized that creditting was different. Well, you can keep on doing it the old way, for sure, but there's a new and COOLER way to credit now. And Mid has written a tutorial to help people who want to do it!
[STEP ONE;] ZEE ICON. Okay, this isn't really step. Its more of a starting point. Whatever
[STEP TWO;] Getting the icon. You have two choices. First one is saving it to file for later usage. I find its very helpful to make seperate folders for different icon makers. That way you know who made what icon months down the road. :3
OR!
[STEP TWO;] Another choice for getting the icon is copying the url of the icon. This is great when you going to upload the icon right away. :3
[STEP THREE;] Upoload the icon. Simple. ;D
[STEP FOUR;] The keywords. If your a person who uses icons for everything (entries, comments, etc.), keywords are important to tell one icon fromn another. You can plug in whatever you want. Usually, its good to use the text thats actually on the icon. Keeps things simple. :3
[STEP FIVE;] The comment. The comment feature is new and won't show up anywheres else but your userpic page. This is where the credit goes. You plug in the makers name [ < lj user="ELJAYUSERNAME" > ] and you can plug in their ijournal/icommunity as well [ < lj comm="IJOURNAL" > ]. Of course, both those codes there are without the spaces. :3
Now, the important thing to remember with the comment feature is the fact that
no two comments can be the same. Please remember this if your uploading multiple icons! To make sure the credit appears with every icon, use something simple like numbers to keep the comments a little bit different.
[STEP SIX;] Bang, yo, you perfectly creditted. Can't get better then that. Now anyone who surfs your userpics can easily get to the uber cool person who made your icons. ;D
Pimp this out if you want. I haven't seen any other tutorials to this effect. :3
