Kelangan ba talagang itagalog yan?

Wha... Is that a tagalized version of Leona Lewis' Bleeding Love I'm hearing from our neighbor's very loud radio???? WHAT THE HELL!! First, I learned about the Tagalog version of Rihanna's Umbrella, no thanks to my co-worker for singing it while working one day, and now Bleeding Love?! Hate it! Hate them both!

On a totally different note, my salary has finally increased. Wicked!! Sweet!! I wanna buy a pair of Chuck Taylor. And those oil companies.

Out of Olympics

I'm saddened by the news of Maria Sharapova withdrawing from Beijing Olympics because of shoulder injury. She might not participate in the U.S. Open too. Oh Masha, I'm gonna miss you (and your grunt). :-( Get well soon. Women's tennis isn't fun for me without you.

Roger Federer!! You better make me a happy girl and win an Olympic Gold, okay?!

And let's just pray that China will not be shaken by another big earthquake.

Bitch Slap The Movie

AHHHHHH!! Xena and Hercules casts in one movieee!! I. Must. Watch. It! I've read that Lucy Lawless and Renee O'Connor will be playing as nuns? Bwahahaha! OHMYWORD, Renee will probably make such a cute nun! She kind of reminds me of that singing nun from Sister Act. But anyways, looks like they're not the main characters though but those those 3 bitc--- err... gorgeous ladies with augmented boots. The title of the movie is Bitch Slap by the way. Heh. Looks like Girltrash! with more budget. And more boobs. And more bullets. And more bombs? Not that I've seen Girltrash! before anyway.

Xenaaaaaaa. Gabbyyyyyyyyyyy. I miss you guuyyyyyyyyys!!!! ♥♥♥♥

Work, Get Smart & Meme

WORK SUCKS. I KNOW.

Pat and I switched schedule 2 weeks ago, so now I'm with our day shift counterparts. I'll stay with Ivy's team for the whole month of July. The dayshift ACs are a very silent bunch compared to the night shift, and I figured that it's because they're just being young and shy. They so remind me of myself, lol! But then, Ivy is kinda strict with her team. That's saying a lot.

GET SMART

Finally saw the movie last week. Thank God it was still showing. Well, what can I say? It's a funny movie. I have a crush on Dwayne Johnson, so I was a little disappointed to know that he was one of the villains. Darn. *pouts* But anyways, Anne Hathaway was gorgeous on this film in my opinion. I now have a girl crush on her! *giggles like a high school girl*

HILLARY CLINTON

I just want to say that I kind of feel devastated that Hillary Clinton didn't get the nomination. Yeah, that's coming from someone who's not even an American and hates politics. Anyway, congratulations to Barack Obama for securing the Democratic nomination. I'm not ready to jump on the Obama bandwagon though. I think I'll settle as a Clinton-only supporter for now.

SITE TRANSFER & PROMOTION

A couple of weeks ago, our team moved from ABS-CBN to our new building located along Commonwealth. I kind of like the new building. The location, not so much. As if ABS-CBN is not far enough for me already. Now I have to wake up earlier to catch the 8:00 pm shuttle. I don't want to ride the jeep anymore because I could now see why people say it's dangerous to take the overpass. It's quite deserted, prone to hold-ups. The security guard sitting at the other side of the overpass is not very assuring. Plus, it's still a long walk to the site when you take the overpass.

Anyway, before we moved to our new building, Ana took pictures of us from our previous production area. It's actually forbidden to take pictures, but to hell with it. It was our last day on ABS-CBN. It was a good opportunity too since most people were out of the office already and our supervisor went out. When the cat's away, the mice will play.

Another Team Building

Just got home last night from another team building. The location? Juness Beach Resort in Morong, Bataan. Where it was raining. Hard. In fact, it was signal number 1 when we got there. Then it changed to signal number two around midnight. Fun!

In addition to that, electricity was cut off around Saturday noon until after lunch on Sunday because of the raging storm. We weren't also allowed to swim at the beach because the waves were so strong, they were like freaking tsunamis. But surprisingly, I enjoyed doing the team building activities in the pouring rain and get to know our day shift counterparts.

Writer's Block: Remembering mom

What's your favorite memory of your mother?

View other answers

Thought that I should try this Writer's Block thingy given that it's Mother's Day.

Anyway, I can't say that I have a favorite memory of our mom. I remember the bad moments first, no matter how few they are. I wonder why. Well, I guess what matters most is the fact that she's still healthy and alive, and loves us all. I just don't know what to do if my parents die, especially our mom. So I'm grateful for having her, despite her shortcomings. There's no such thing as a perfect mom anyway.

Watched the movie Iron Man last week and I love it! Tony Stark was sooo funny and oooooo.. such a nice body he'd got! He's not that good-looking, but I think he's ruggedly handsome. And well, I like ruggedly handsome men ♥. There! My secret is out.

Movies

Nim's Island is the first movie I've seen this year. And well, the only reason I decided to watch it is because Jodie Foster is in it. I guess she just made it to my list of actors/actresses I'll watch in almost anything. How's that for fangirling?

Anyway, the thought of Jodie Foster doing a family flick had me worried, but I guess she and the movie turned out fine. JF was very entertaining and funny, a bit ridiculous sometimes, but she proved that she could also do family flick and not just matured ones. The only thing that bothered me was that her character wasn't really necessary on that Island. She should have stayed in her apartment with her hand sanitizers, heh.

----------------

How scary is the movie Shutter, I wonder. It's one of those American-remake of Asian horror films, but I always find the original versions scarier. I guess it has something to do with the hair color too, he he.

I came across a message board where people were discussing about the scariest movie they've seen. I haven't seen many scary movies, so I guess Ringu is still the scariest for me. Sadako will never fail to scare the living daylights out of me. Just thinking about that well scares me. *shivers* Uhmm.. not a good idea to talk about scary films when it's 2 am.

Can somebody switch off the sun? Oh right, it's night already. Maybe later?

I hate summer. And it sucks to be working at night during this season because you have to sleep in the morning when it's hotter. Thank God for air-conditioner, or I would wake up every hour drenched in sweat, then eventually feel grumpy at work.

Suffering from LSS. Thank you, my dear colleague for introducing me that song by Nicole (I know, I'm a late bloomer). Now I can't get it out of my head!

*sings* We're so in love.... la la la la.. yeah... we're so in love... la la la la la.... And I just can't get enough.. of your la la la la love. Yeah, we're so in love, love...  I want you to know....

Don't you just love people who have the same taste in music as yours? I sure do, and I love to hear recommendations from other people. I have a lot of recommendations when I was still taking my OJT from another colleague. Aw, now I miss her. Wonder where she's currently working.

Gonna drown myself with more music.

Belated Happy Easter

Monday already? Back to work tonight.

Went to work last Maundy Thursday and Good Friday too even though those days were considered non-working holidays. Though I'm a Catholic, I don't follow practices, namely fasting and abstinence during Lenten Season. I haven't experienced reading Pasyon, do the Stations of The Cross, or even attend mass during Good Friday to hear The Seven Last Words. I've only heard the sermons on TV. Not something I should be proud of, no?

So anyway, MRT was closed last Thursday and Friday so I took a bus instead, and the thing is, I really hate to commute by riding a bus. But it was fun riding an ordinary bus when the traffic's not heavy. I like the speed. I like the feel of air blowing through your face, but it's not fun anymore if the driver hits something or someone of course.

What's Up LiveJournal?

I just learned that LiveJournal doesn't allow people to create Basic Accounts since March 12. Basic Account users who have created before March 12 will stick around. But for how long? I will never gonna switch to Plus Account. Unless, of course, one day they decided to get rid of those ads!

In addition, LJ has secretly censored some Interests. The are still viewable from your profile page, but not on LJ's Popular Interest page. Those interests are: Sex, Boys, Girls, Fanfiction, Yaoi, Hardcore, Bondage, Porn, Faeries, Pain, Depression and Bisexuality. If you want to see the figures, check this out.

In some ways, I can understand why they decided to censor those interests. But why faeries? Why fanfiction? Fanfiction is one of my interests actually (and the only interest on my list that was censored). Oh riiiight. Because hundreds, no, thousands of fanfictions are now rated NC-17, thus, it didn't suit LJ's new wholesome (Russian-ish?) look. It's like.... fanfiction is the new porn for them or somethin'.

Oh well. Whatever LJ.

On VL And On A Roll!

Maayong Buntag

So, it has been a week since our parents went out of town and took a flight from Manila to Cebu. The plane landed after 2 hours, then they visited my uncle and his family there. They arrived in our province, which is Southern Leyte, at night. They'll be staying there for a month or 2, so now I'm sharing responsibility with my twin sister in paying bills (telephone, water, current & cable), doing the weekly grocery and giving my baby brother's daily allowance. Phew. Thank God my aunt is here, or else we could have been  the ones in charge of cooking, ironing, washing laundry and buying kilos of meat too. While I do take care of my own underwear, I really hate going to a meat market, and as embarrassing as it may seem, I have to admit that I don't know much about cooking. I think I've only tried noodles and frying so far.

Upcoming Concerts

I'm done with customizing my LJ because my sister has resigned in making a layout for me, so I apologize to my non-LJ friends for removing your links. I didn't do it on purpose. I'll put it back. Well, probably when I'm in the mood and not too lazy. (-_______-)

More Concerts of Foreign Artists in Manila 2008

Ne-yo - February 29 & March 1 - Araneta Coliseum (I only know that 'So sick' song. But I like him, compared to Akon.)
Maroon 5 - March 5 - Araneta Coliseum (Liked some of their songs, but don't like 'em in general.)
Incubus - March 9 - Araneta Coliseum (Love them!!!!)
Mandy Moore - March 12 - Eastwood City, Libis (Love her!!!)
James Blunt - May 19 - Araneta Coliseum ('You're beautiful' is the only song that I like)

There are also some rumored concerts of Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Matchbox 20, U2 and Duran Duran just to name a few. I bet lots of pinoys are praying for JT, but I want Madonna and Rob Thomas.

MCR Concert & Australian Open 2008

My Chemical Romance Concert

I used one of my 7 VLs (vacation leave) so I could accompany my sister to the MCR concert last Friday. I can't really tell if the concert was a flop or not. Sure, there were lots of people, but I noticed there were lots of vacant chairs as well on the Silver area. The area was divided into 5. First was the VIP, the nearest from the stage. A VIP ticket costs around 10k, if I'm not mistaken. Next to the VIP area was the Gold which costs around 3k. Third was Silver around 2k. Fourth was Bronze around 600, and the farthest was General Admission which costs exactly 412. Yeah, we were in GA because I'm so cheap and I didn't like MCR that much.

FIELD DAY

I usually don't sleep on Sunday nights since I started working, but I didn't get to sleep well last Saturday. Our team had an overnight stay at a resort in Laguna. Yesterday was my younger brother's 17th birthday. Apparently not a happy one since he's still confined in a hospital somewhere in Alabang due to dengue. He saw a doctor here in Makati last Thursday and was admitted in the hospital the next day. Of all places, my mom chose that hospital in Alabang because my uncle's girlfriend (more like mistress. *snorts* My uncle's already married with two kids. He's not even good-looking, duh.) works there as a nurse. I admit that I was a little annoyed because mom was putting off last Friday by waiting for Teresa's (the mistress/nurse) call if there was still a room left in the hospital she was working rather than just go call a cab and rush my brother to a nearby hospital.

TV

Along with the new year, SkyCable has a new line up of their new and old channels. I'm happy that I could still watch ETC, 2nd Avenue and C/S on free TV. Too bad I couldn't watch Jack TV anymore. I'm gonna miss Just For Laughs. And I thought I saw their plug of Pushing Daisies. Anyway, I'm a little overwhelmed as to what to watch. I don't get to see shows on working days so I kinda have to catch up on weekends by watching reruns. Just this evening, I finally got the chance to hog the TV. I wanted to watch 3 shows on 3 different channels but they're all on the same timeslot. *sighs*

Bueno. Watched Kapamilya Deal or No Deal (sorry, tao lang! XD) 1 vs. 100 and The Big Night of PBB Celebrity Edition Season 2. Was that the front man of Kamikaze on KDOND 1 vs. 100? He won 2M! And I can't believe he has beaten all the mobs! About PBB, boohoo, I was rooting for Riza since day one. She's my role my model. Beautiful, tough chick and still a virgin. :-D Go virgins! LOL. Loved Ms. G's skit :-)

Wheel of Fortune is finally here in the Philippines. I love game shows. Hmm.. what's next I wonder? Jeopardy?

Merry Christmas! Work & TAR-Asia As Usual

Merry Christmas! But frankly speaking, I don't feel that Christmas-y this year. Must be the work. Happy holidays they say? What holidays?

Speaking of work, it has been a busy week last week. We even had to go to work last Saturday in exchange for not going to work tonight. Who wants to work on Christmas Eve anyway? I wouldn't mind much if I were a medical practitioner, but we're business process associates. Those life insurance applications can wait.
