My Dad got his stitches out of his hand on Tuesday.  There were five yucky looking stitches.  At least it's healing up now. He has a smaller bandage on now which he'll keep on until Thursday.  After the doctor's we went to Eat'N'Park and then I had to take my Dad to the eye Doc for a checkup.  It's been a busy day, people.
The flowers I planted last week are starting to come up, but not the veggies.  Stay tuned.

There's a bar about a block and a half from my house and tonight (about two hours ago) something caught fire behind it.  There was a lot of smoke and I could see flames, but it was quickly put under control.  The whole thing ended in about an hour.
In other news, I planted my garden.  Tomatos, cucumbers and peppers.  Stay tuned.

A few days ago, I bought a mini digital camera.  Real small...only $14.95, so I don't expect a lot out of it.  I did take a few pics, one of my John Lennon doll and one of me, but the pic of me only shows the top part of my head! ;)  There's a viewfinder on the top of the camera, but it's about ½ worse than useless in getting the shot you want. I might use it to take pics of my garden and see what happens.  I gotta learn to delete the pics now.  
Did you know I can remove my sister's wheelchair out of the car with one hand and hold an umbrella with the other? Neither did I until this evening when I took my family to church.  It poured the proverbial cats and dogs. The back of my blouse was soaked, but it was polyester so it dried quickly.  At least after mass it wasn't raining.

My Dad had his carpel tunnel surgery Monday morning and it went without problems.  I took my Dad to the outpatient surgery floor at 9:15 a.m. and my Dad was taken up for surgery around 10:30 a.m.  We had hired a lady to help my Mom watch Barb while my Dad and I were away.  While Dad was in surgery, I went home anyway to see if everything was fine. (the hospital is only 2 miles from my house)
Funny thing is, my Dad said he fell asleep in the pre-op room and when he woke up, the nurse told him the surgery was over! LOL 
Kinda reminds me when I had oral surgery to remove a wisdom tooth.  I fell asleep too and didn't wake up until it was all over.
Anyway, we didn't get outta there until 3 p.m. but I'm glad it's all over.  I have this week off from work to help him, since he can't life anything or do anything strenous with that hand for awhile.  He's got this big bandage around his hand, but at least he can move it.
Of course, now that I have time to do stuff, like plant my garden, the weather has turned cold.
Wednesday night, we all went to mass for Ascension Thursday.  Not many people there at all, and that's a shame.

Could someone please explain to me why everyone in Pittsburgh is amazed that the Steelers took a running back in the first round of the draft?  The media's treating this like someone spit on the Clemente statue outside PNC park.

I am SO glad the elections are over for PA. 
Just today I got about four phone calls of recordings asking me to vote for Hillary or Obama.
That's not including the two on my answering machine.

So...
Last night I began writing more of my next story in my 'Barrelful of Trouble' series.  Actually wrote a few more paragraphs.
I also began writing a few paragraphs of my new Christian Monkees fic. I have a working title for it, but it'll probably change.
Tonight, my sister is diagnosed with a bladder infection.  She's home and on Anti-biotics, but still...
Ran over to the pharmacy and found out they close early on Saturday, so now I gotta go out again Sunday morning.

I watched a little of Jay Leno tonight.  During his monologue he told of how the Pontiff (who is visiting Washington D.C. right now) was sprinkling holy water around...some of it got on Dick Cheney and he began to scream! I immediately thought of my Revelations and Truths story and its use of holy water to keep evil beings at bay. So it seems even Jay Leno knows that holy water is something to be feared by evil beings! LOL

As everyone may or may not know, my Dad is having Carpel Tunnel surgery on his right wrist on the 28th.

This afternoon, my Dad got a call from my brother. Turns out the doctor's office that's been holding onto my FMLA  (family medical leave act)  papers for something close to forever called HIS house to tell him they are ready. 

At the doctor's other office.  In a different city.

My brother has a different name than my Dad and I think his number is unlisted...

These are the same people that lost my other set of papers for my Dad a few months ago.
I sincerely hope the doctor is more competant than the morons people running his office.

Oh yeah, my Easter dress still has not arrived.
I'm trying to get two caps on my teeth and my dentist keeps postponing my appointment.  I think my icon sez it all right now.

It only took me about 3 days, but I finally managed to put my Revelations and Truths story up at my website. I just gave up and let the site format the story the way IT wanted to, double spaced and all. I wanted to do single spacing to save room and it wouldn't let me edit and the font was too big in some sections...sheesh.

I ordered a new dress to wear for Easter, a real nice violet-colored one. I get a letter last week from the company, saying they had an 'unexpected' demand for the dress and hope to ship in 30 days. Still, I was hoping it would come so I could wear it for Easter, but it didn't. Now I gotta find something else to wear. Grrrr.

I happened to get a sneak peek at the Sunday funnies comic, 'For Better or for Worse'.  It has the family going to church and little Michael asked a really, really, interesting question...
I hope the same comic runs in other Sunday papers, so you'll see what I mean.

Well, I made my once-a-year Easter paska bread again tonight and this time I think it came out better than before! The loaves rose up okay and they tasted good! Maybe I'm expecting the paska to look like the store-bought ones, but I think I did good! I put the dough in a warm oven this time (it always seems to be cold and rainy out when I bake bread) and maybe that helped.

Does anyone else feel that daylight savings is really, really stupid? I personally think it makes no sense. Sunday mass was pretty empty, probably because people forgot to put their clocks ahead.  
Anyway, my Mom and I are going to the Pittsburgh Home and Garden show Tuesday,  I think it will be fun.

I'm just about done with my Christian Monkees fic!
I even typed the words, 'THE END'! That fic has taken me a little more than a year to write!  it's over 41,000 words and 59 pages...single spaced.
Hopefully, I'll do my re-writes and post it...soon.
