I called out sick to work today with an ear ache and just feeling down. Had a very nice day at home, I slept till 10:30am, played some XBox, finished a book and then headed out for some errands, (picking up a perscription, picking up hte work laptop for the OR, and heading to cheer practice). I should have skipped cheer practice. I made it through the first hour and a half, and I think my lack of water and lack of food did me in. I almost blacked out, vision darkened, felt dizzy and my hearing even muffled down for about 30 seconds. I'm not sure if it was the lack of proper food, or it may have been the double groin muscle pull that I did on myself that triggered the physical reaction. Anyways, I REALLY felt like crap then, had to sit down and decided to go home as quickly as possible. I did leave my necklace and my cell phone at the park, I hope someone sees them both and takes them with them. The necklace was on the table, the phone...I don't know where I left it, I thought it was in my purse when I left. Oh well, I felt so crummy I refused to drive back over to look for them, and I couldn't call anyone because my phone was left. Now I'm home trying very hard not to walk or move from the waist down, I look like a decrepit pale 80 year old. I wanted fast food, but was so disorientated on my drive home I took the wrong road 2x and missed both McDonalds between the field and home. I'm hoping S will make me soup or get me something when he gets home from soccer. I'd call...but you know...no phone...
1st-Aug-2008 10:13 pm - Happy Birthday to ME!
Sebastian & Maggie
So I'm 29 today, it's been a pretty good year and I have to say I made out pretty well this birthday. So yesterday Tiff and I went out to lunch at Main Street Pizza and then she got her hair done and I got a mani/pedi. I relaxed at home playing some X-Box 360 in the evening. Today work went smoothly, I had birthday cake and a card at work which was nice. My totally awesome friends Lisa & her husband Mike had an Edible Bouquet sent to me at work. It is SOOO YUMMY! I didn't have my camera at work, so I don't have the really beautiful before picture, but even 1/3 eaten it still looks pretty spiffy. It had a lot more chocolate covered apples earlier. It still is really beautiful and gives you an idea - it's yummy and healthy. I'd totally give this as a gift in the future.

Edible Bouquet!

I got a pretty scarf and earrings from Sebastian's mom that I wore to work today and I got money from my parents and the grandmothers, and a silver bracelet from one of my aunts. I sent out thank you phone calls to the loving family. Sebastian learned his lesson after the first year with no birthday cake and got me a birthday cake and neon colored kiddo overside "2" and "9" numbers. He also got me like 5 video games - so he did well yet again this year.

This evening was the big registration cheer intro night. So I spent from 6:30-9pm meeting parents and helping size about 30 little girls for uniforms. My age group is 5-7; and we also have 8-10 year olds - that group can go to Nationals provided we qualify. We are the San Antonio Saints ( www.sanantoniosaints.org ).

I don't think I posted yet, but next Tuesday I'm dropping off my engagement ring for engraving - it will be EXTREMELY weird not having it for about a week. We are having, "one ring to bind them 10/5/08" in script put on. We like the literal and LoTR darker double entendree; S can't get his ring engraved as he chose ceramic. I spoke to my Matron of Honor today, her bridesmaid dress has arrived and fits, she only has to get it hemmed and she says the dress is flattering. =-D

This was recommended as the best Cheer performance of last year by the professional judge who presented to us.
22nd-Jul-2008 12:30 am - Program Draft...input appreciated.
Sebastian & Maggie
I spent the last several hours working on my programs for my wedding, it's sad how little was accomplished, I like the formatting and have all the really important info I think. I'm trying to use one sheet of light cream colored cardstock and use my work's color copier so I don't really want to do multi-page programs. It's not outside the realm of possibility if the consensus here is that this is just cheap/tacky/non-informative/looks bad etc. But it's preferred to streamline to one 1/2 page printed front and back people can have.

11th-Jul-2008 10:33 pm - 3 Month to go - HUGE wedding post.
Sebastian & Maggie
So my wedding is Sunday October 5, 2008. Here's a progress post, I was doing great till about 3 months ago when my fiance and I decided to buy a house. Well, we did, then we repainted the inside of almost the entire thing and I didn't even have 2 minutes to spare thinking weddings because I worked 4 hours a night when we got our of work and weekends on the house the month prior to moving in. However! Now I'm back on Weddings hardcore as I'm feeling the crunch.

On to the pictures! Read more... )

Only 3 more invites that are lacking addresses to mail and I will be done the wedding invitation game. Yay!

Didn't do much today, I caulked about 1/3 of the crown molding tonight, basically I used 1 full tube of caulking then I quit when it ran out. I think we are going to throw a house-warming party here Saturday the 19th so our co-workers and friends who haven't seen the house can come over and check it out.

Daniela is gone now, today was her last day, she was gone before I got home from work.

I hurt my foot during the move on the 20th and it's still bothering me quite a bit, perhaps I should go get x-rays. =-( It never bruised so I didn't think I broke anything, but perhaps I have small pressure fractures in the cuniforms region, that's where the tenderness seems to be located.

That's all for tonight, it's definitely bedtime.

Lisa - just sending some love your way.
6th-Jul-2008 09:31 pm - Holy Moly Purchases!
Sebastian & Maggie
OK, so yesterday Sebastian, Tiffany, Mike and I, with Daniela hit the Outlets in San Marcos first. So I got 3 tank-tops, 2 pairs of work slacks, and a white tank blouse for work. Pretty good start, oh, and 2 throw pillows from Kirklands for the living room. Then we hit IKEA in Austin. Lisa joined us at the store and even found a futon for her house. Tiff & Mike got some little things, which was good as Sebastian and I totally filled their vehicle with our purchases of 3 bookcases and a carpet! Tiffany actually had to ride home in our car because she no longer fit in her own. It was far too long a day of shopping for me, I'm not into 12 hour marathon days.

So this morning Sebastian and I got up, broke down all the boxes in the garage from the move, we are down to only about 8 unpacked boxes in the house now. Then we assembled the first 2 bookcases, the one for the entryway and the living room, then we filled them, I vacuumed and mopped and we picked up his desk from Adrienne that we bought as she's moving from a house to an apartment and downsizing. Here are some pictures of the 2 more completed rooms now. =-)

Tiff and Mike are over for dinner with us and we plan to watch some Anime afterwards and veg since it's been a VERY busy weekend.

So we will get a second wood bookcase for this room in a month, Mike's car could not have handled a 4th item. I LOVE this room!

My mirror still isn't hung, but we will do that tomorrow evening.

4th-Jul-2008 05:06 pm - Invites are not going well.
Sebastian & Maggie
Grrr....so I only had 2 pages of labels here and the printer misfed the second page by about a 1/4 inch so I think the rest of my invites will be handwritten. Not a huge deal, my writing is legible, just really annoying and more time consuming. So instead of doing 30 today, so far I've done umm...9 - 6 of those are to Europe.

Sebastian didn't really want to help me with translations of the invite and RSVP, so it took longer than it should. Apparently translating food is very hard, things like Prime Rib didn't translate directly in a way that sounded appetizing, so he wrote explanations by everything.

I'm taking a break, maybe I'll do more later, maybe I won't. It's time to enjoy my 4th a little. Sleeping in was lovely, and if I can convince S to go with me I'd like to stop by the subdivision pool party at least and see if I meet any of the neighbors, but I don't want to go by myself and S doesn't want to go.

EDIT: Well, I started handwriting addresses and I have completed the first 60 invites now, only 12 stragglers to do before Monday.
4th-Jul-2008 01:36 am - Wedding Relaunch
Sebastian & Maggie
OK, it's after July 1st and as self-promised I am launching back into wedding planning for the final 3 month crunch. Yesterday I began printing copies for the Do-It-Yourself portion of my invites, today I began assembling. I completed the first 30 invitation tonight, 42 still to go.

This is the spread of items used in putting together the invitations.
Invitation Assembly

And this is the inserts in one who gets everything. Now Sebastian thought the Madlibs was retarded so I only made 12 and only the 12 coolest people get a MadLibs in thier invite. Family, bridal party, & out of country get invites to the rehearsal dinner. The Inserts
