Hm. So today, I've been getting some 403 Forbidden errors:
You don't have permission to access /forum/index.php on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
It seems to go away if you refresh the page once or twice (or multiple times), but it IS still annoying. I checked all the files and they're fine... and the error seems to appear more frequently in Firefox than on IE... Right now, I'm hoping it's just me and/or it'll go away by itself. But is anyone else having this problem?

I just wanted to let people know that I'm going to be away for a week or two, very scarce at the least, because my son has come down with Pneumonia, which isn't getting along with his asthma. Good news, guys. I've finished transferring everything to the new host (with a little code help from Amber's boy again). Everything seems to be fine and in working order, so I'm just waiting for the nameservers to update and point to the new host. This normally completes in 24-48 hours, so a day or two. :(
But after that, WE SHOULD BE GOOD. ;;
On a completely unrelated note. It should not be 80 degrees in the middle of December. Texas is so many kinds of failure. :(
...lol, the old host seems to have died yet again! I'm so glad we decided to just move early! >_<

Alright, so while the board is down, I figured that I might start thinking about making another skin. However, I'm curious as to what you would all like to see.
I've noticed that despite being a (were)wolf rpg, not many of our headers have wolves or coyotes on them. Should the next header I make feature a wolf of some sorts? Or multiple wolves? Or -gasp- a wolf and a coyote?
Colours? Themes? Pictures? Ideas?
Post them hurrrr. :D
Since I will have much more time over the winter break to work on this, hooray!

Board is up again. Apparently Amber's boy and I fixed it at the same time, lulz.
Host move might be coming sooner than planned just because I'm sick of the random downtime. If we do move early, the icon contest and Superlative deadlines will likely be pushed to New Year's or maybe even later, depending on how everything goes.
Once again, SORRY SO MUCH for all of this bullshit. Trust me when I say I'm just as frustrated as you are. D:

Hey guys.
As I'm sure most of you have noticed, we've been having a lot of hosting issues lately. The server will go down sporadically without explanation, some people can't access for variable periods of time while the site seems to be up for others -- it's just been nuts and very annoying for everyone.
We've contacted our host numerous times. We've still yet to get any sort of response on their part and we're sick of waiting for them to give us answers. We don't recommend ever using 1portfolio for hosting! The SA has decided that we need to switch hosts and as soon as possible. We've just finished picking out a new one after carefully combing through a bunch of hosting review sites, so hopefully this one will be more reliable.
We are planning on shutting down and moving the forums on December 26th, 2007. Sorry for the somewhat short notice, but we figure that most of you guys will be busy around then anyway and so the downtime won't be as noticeable? This also gives us time to finish out the header rotation for our current skin and finish up the icon hunt contest.
Unfortunately, because this hosting move will also involve redirecting our domain, it might take between 2-3 days to complete, during which time the site will be inaccessible. I plan on keeping everyone posted and informed of our progress on this LJ community (which I think should have more general activity anyway), so everyone should check that out. The yearbook submissions technically run until the 29th, but because of expected downtime now, it'll be recommended you not put it off until then, just in case. Note: we are only switching hosting. We are not moving to a new board. You should not have to re-register, restart threads, etc.
Additionally, we do not plan to reinstall the old IPB 2.2.2 board on the new host. Therefore, if you want to save threads that are currently archived there, you should do that as soon as possible. We still have hosting with 1portfolio for another year, but after the domain redirects, we're not sure how to go about accessing it. XD

Why the hell is 'Souls down every time I turn around?
When trying to replace the php file in question (though it doesn't even look like it's been tampered with), I get an error saying the disc is full or something. This seemed odd, but I cleared off some of the old junk on the FTP anyway. No luck. So I tried to access it through the CPanel. ... And there lies the rub. Either our host is absolutely retarded, or they got their asses hacked and someone overflowed the mounted filesystem on their Linux servers. Either way, I sent an urgent message to support. But considering they still haven't replied to me concerning the fact that a curious fraction of our members seem unable to access the site except through a proxy, I don't really expect them to do much about it. I'm wondering if this is the last straw yet and if we should just move to a new fucking host because come on. This is ridiculous.
I am very tired. The website still works and, oddly enough, the old forums do also. But neither of them are as important as the main board, soooo. Eh.
More people should use this community. I've been trying to use it as the emergency message system since a lot of people do seem to use LJ on a regular basis and our grapevine's pretty decent, right?

Jeez, I lose internet for a day (because SCAD technology is phail) and the forums die?? =____= Or is it just me? (I hope it's just me?)

6+ hours staring at code and editing images.
And the new layout for the board DOESN'T FREAKING WORK ON INTERNET EXPLORER OR SAFARI. What. The FUCK. It only works in Firefox. I didn't realize it until I shoved it live for about five minutes and some off-site friend was like, "wtf I cannot seeee." So I have absolutely idea at which point the code broke the browsers. Backtracking would likely take longer than recoding the entire fucking thing. FUCK. ARGH.
I know most of us probably use Firefox anyway, but in the midst of our shitty overall activity lately, attracting new joiners wouldn't be any easier with a board that breaks for the ever-dominant browser. SIGH.
...So yes, this was basically just a rant. HATE.

One or two with family-type people would be nice as well, since there's not as many of you floating around as there used to be. Lastly, I'd like at least one thread with somebody new. Mordulin's old and slightly withdrawn to what she knows, but I don't want to shut her completely off from the rest of the world.

OK.
So Crypts being plauged by those super-ghost....if youve ever read Anne Rice's 'The Witching Hour' its about the same plot. only, this is more or less just targetting Crpyt, rather than her whole family. And crypt doesnt want it at all lol
I would LOVE for someone to play this ghost for awhile. it's as long as you want, and we'll have pretty constant threadage, its basically harassing Crypt into going out to some place alone, and either letting it take her body over, or sharing her body with it. Its a lot of scary crap, and it's freaking Crypt out. You can read this thread to see what sorts of junk it's doing and how Crypts reacting.
At some point, this ghost will have a name, and an appearance. it's getting stronger the more and more its getting to Crypt, so it'll be up to you what it looks like and what its name is.
The only part that is definate is the goal: for Crypt to somehow give up her body, or another's body for this Ghost to take over. That, and so far the ghost seems more masculine to Crypt.
Sound interesting at all?
